Reid Calls for "Airing" of Vitter Scandal

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said "the call-girl scandal that has engulfed Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) should have 'a full airing' and noted that there is an open criminal investigation into the escort service that Vitter acknowledged calling," the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

"Reid stopped short of calling for an ethics committee investigation of the freshman senator and is not likely to, preferring to let the scandal play out on its own."

Meanwhile, The Politico covers Vitter's return to the Senate -- "before he bolted. Literally, he bolted through a maze of offices and popped out a door halfway down the hall. Vitter was trapped, and he knew it -- or heard it: the reporters with boom mikes and in high heels chasing after him."
