Can Congress do both, Charge Miers with Contempt and Inherent Contemt |
|
at the same time. The reason stated they use Contempt Charges instead of "Inherent Contempt" is the punishment. "Inherent Contempt" is only good as long as Congress is in session (about another six months) where Contempt charges if upheld and followed through on by the Just Us Dept can be far more severe. But can they do both? It would seem to me they are seperate charges with seperate enforcement agencies. I would think it would be entirely legal.

That would be the best of both worlds, actually. Inherent contempt would mean she would be jailed until she honored the subpoena, while regular Contempt carries greater penalties.
Hmmmm..... that would be very good. But, truly, do you think they'll even do either of them? I'm not so sure anymore.
