Let's approach this Flynt "shocker" thing logically, starting with a question: |
|
Who is the most self-righteous, Fundamentalist, hateful bigot in the Senate? Someone who is not only against abortion, but rabid on anything having to do even tangentially with sex (abstinence only, no AIDS funding, anti-birth-control, etc.)? Most likely Protestant rather than Catholic, Southern Baptist/Assembly of God--something like that.

19. Unlikely. If Lieberman was having extramarital sex, it would have come out in 2000 |
|
Bush made his bones in politics doing opposition research for his Dad, who went all out for snooping into opponents private lives. The entire Bush campaign was about "bringing honor and dignity back to the White House"; i.e. Bush wouldn't be having affairs in the Oval Office. Gore had been known for decades as a model family man, which was one of the reasons Clinton asked Gore to be his running mate in 1992, after the first "Bill Clinton Cheated On His Wife" story broke.
If there was even a hint that Lieberman was cheating on his wife, Karl Rove would have never stopped blast faxing that to the press. The "Gore Picks A Running Mate Who's An Adulterer Like Bill Clinton" story would have been the "perfect" story from the media's perspective. They would have used it to bash Al Gore over the head with 24/7, and we'd still be hearing about it today.

I know for a fact that while in the Oklahoma state senate he always had relationships with women other than his wife. Everyone thought he was "Mr. Perfectly Married" with beautiful children, beautiful wife, etc. The uber-religious, hate mongering against gays, rabid anti-abortion positions came later. Something happened to him.

|
Maybe Liddy Dole signed up just to keep Bob occupied when she's on the floor. LOL!
Just sayin', we shouldn't automatically assume it's a man or a Con (though it probably is). But, can you imagine how it being a female Republican Senator would absolutely shake the very core of the Cons???

|
Even though the right wing has been spreading rumors that she's a Lesbian for decades. The media response would be insane if Flynt named her.
I'm not sayin' she is gay or she is on the list, I'm just sayin' Clinton would probably be the most "shocking" female Senator to be included on the list.

I think you'd have to be a political junkie or one of Liddy Dole's constituents to get why her name being on the list would be more shocking than Olympia Snowe or Barbara Mikulski or any other female Senator.

One doesn't have to be a political junkie or her constituent considering she's had the national stage as the wife of a Presidential candidate, two Cabinet positions, President of the Red Cross, etc. etc. etc.
Regardless of the 'rumors' splayed about by the Scaiffe-Murdoch elbow rubbers, I would suspect that Hillary is way too disciplined to go the route of the DC Madam.

The Clintons and their marriage have been a national sexual joke for fifteen years. There is no public figure whose extramarital affair could come close to causing the kind of media circus that an extramarital affair by Bill or Hillary Clinton would.
Re: Hillary being way too disciplined to go the route of the DC Madam. You'd think that her husband would have been way too disciplined to start an affair with an intern while Ken Starr was investigating the Paula Jones case, but he wasn't. Never underestimate the capacity for human beings to make stupid mistakes.

I am surprised that Flynt says he's "shocked" by anything, especially if that involves hypocritical, RW male officials. We've had enough examples of them that it shouldn't surprise anyone to find there are more. Therefore, the only thing that would be "shocking"--to me, anyway--would be if a good liberal woman, such as Barbara Boxer, were involved.
Obviously, I do not think that is the way he meant "shocked."
