Cindy Sheehan...Lightning Rod
Edited on Wed Jul-18-07 08:44 AM by Highway61
I see the wrangle dangle back and forth on these boards about her. She has become the God fearing "lightning rod". Why? Like Hillary, I ask why? Is it because she is a woman and smart?
You know what I see? I see a parent right full of conviction. Look into her eyes when she talks. I see a parent who has lost a child. Believe me, I see it right there front and center. I know, as a parent who has lost a child, I especially know what to look for...it isn't hard to see. Her love for that child is so deep that instead of wallowing in the day to day existence feeling that loss, took it and turned it into something positive so others wouldn't have to go through what she has. It is easy for most of us to sit safe in our homes, comfortable in front of their computers tapping out their opinions on the keyboard for few to see. Cindy is someone who saw through the lies and miscarriage of justice this war has brought upon all of us and is DOING something about it.
You may ask what are her motives? Money? Power? Love? My money is on the third. She has been publicly ridiculed, arrested in front of national cameras, sat in extreme heat to protest day after day, lost all her money and cost her a marrage...to name a few.
I, for one, am very grateful for the work she has done. I see a woman with an incredible amount of love for her child...from that love came courage, the type of courage I could only dream about having myself, and above all....integrity. Thank you Cindy.

2. I think she is also a person who sees injustice
I think it galls her and deep down she has to do something to make people see what it has done to families like hers. AND SHE IS RIGHT. This country is governed for the benefits of the rich and corporations.

Most people don't have the guts to follow their convictions. Look at the Jersey Widows. They are fighting. Look at the bashing and dashing they are getting. It seems when any body no better how big or small starts to fight back against this corrupt administration the republican media joins in the fight to try to cut them off.

I wish with all my heart I had a national platform to bring all the corrupt things this republican administration has done and is still doing to this country.

I have said it over and over and over the republicans started years ago to bring to fruition Hilters blueprint on how to take over a country and they are doing it and have completed a heck of a lot. Starting with instilling religion, goodness knows Hitler was not religious, and those that really SEE know bush can't be religious either. They took over the corporations, they took over the government, they took over the media and of course, it only gives the republican point of views. They rigged elections. Goodness knows how far back they did that. They might not even have won some state elections back in the late 90's. The architect of the neo-con movement was a former Nazi, so you can see how this happened.

I think Americans were basic ly good people and did not catch on to what they were doing til it was too late. AND I think the republicans under estimated the American people. That's how come the democrats won back some of the congress seats. I think they are upset about this and that's why bush is stonewalling congress trying to take over more and more power. And if anybody doesn't realize that they are not going to let go of this country that easy they are surely mistaken. I has one of Cheroff's "gut feelings" about this. I hope my gut is not prophetic and it doesn't happen, but I really truly thing these monsters who are in the Whitehorse are not going to let go of the power they have stolen so easy. I just wish somebody, anybody can really truly show them up and kick them out of control, and not just the white house. These people supporting him have finally got that "sinking" feeling that they are all expendable and bush/cheney/rove will let they go as soon as look at them.
