BREAKING! NPR has journalistic tendencies this morning on Morning Edition!
I heard this report on NPR this morning. What struck me as odd is that Steve Inskeep actually sounded like an investigative reporter! He repeatedly ask Frances Townsend, who was frantically defending Bush's assertion that Iraq has become a hotbed for al Qaeda, if aQ had a presence in Iraq before 9/11. Listen to her squirm...

Intelligence Report Resserts<sic> Al-Qaeda Threat*

Morning Edition, July 18, 2007 · The National Intelligence Estimate says al-Qaeda is a renewed threat to the U.S. and has a strong base in Iraq. Frances Townsend, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism, speaks with Steve Inskeep about the report.

NPR

Steve has journalistic tendencies around 1:26 in the report.

This report almost...almost...restored my faith in NPR has a solid member of the Fourth Estate...almost

As for this NIE, Bush ignored the last one which led to the deaths of 3,000 Americans, so I suppose he'll ignore this one too...
________
*Perhaps NPR meant to say reasserts.

2. I knew NPR had been bought and sold when it started "editing" Bushisms
...so that it sounded like we had an emperor wearing clothes!

3. Any examples you can think of?
I have my own gripes about their format and choice of stories (eg., they ran two entirely separate 10-minutes pieces on flip-flops (the shoes) in a three month period).

I also know that they aired a brief discussion of Sicko a few weeks back in which one of the two commentators played the "Cuba is 39th" card, implying that Moore concealed this fact, and NPR didn't clarify her statement.

I'd be interested to hear more about how they've been aiding and abetting our fearless leader in the way you describe.
