http://www.wtopnews.com/index.php?nid=25&sid=1192441WASHINGTON - Alleged D.C. madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey tells WTOP she does feel some kinship with Sen. David Vitter's wife Wendy after his name showed up on Palfrey's escort service records.
"I doubt there isn't a woman anywhere in this country -- and this definitely includes me -- who has not experienced an encounter with a cheating/lying husband/boyfriend/lover," Palfrey writes in an e-mail. .....
"Regarding the ruination of others lives," Palfrey writes. "I believe it is unfair to place such an onus of responsibility on me."
Palfrey wonders how she could possibly be responsible for knowing the marital status of her clients. She likens her role running an escort service to another profession: "Does a bartender ask each and every patron if he/she is a recovering alcoholic?"....
While it's impossible to determine how many of her customers were in committed relationships, Palfrey writes, "As a woman I find it rather despicable for any person (man or woman) to cheat on a spouse/significant other."

Vitter on DC Madam 'borderline disastrous:' MSNBC
David Edwards and Josh Catone - July 16, 2007
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Vitter_on_DC_Madam_borderline_disastrous_0716.htmlDavid Vitter (R-LA) today broke his week long silence and spoke publicly about being linked with the so-called 'DC Madam.'
... Chris Matthews characterized Vitter as "contemptuous" and "angry." ... Norman Robinson, the anchor for NBC affiliate WDSU in New Orleans, talked about how Vitter's remarks raised more questions about his conduct including who paid for the sexual services and whether he broke the law.

I find it noteworthy that Vitter did not actually deny anything. He said "falsehoods...are not true." DUH!

Last week, Wendy and I thought it was very important to have some time alone with our children...
Wendy and I dealt with this personally several years ago. I confronted it in confession and marriage counseling. I believe I received forgiveness from God. I know I did from Wendy, and we put it behind us. ....
Unfortunately, my admission has encouraged some long-time political enemies and those hoping to profit from the situation to spread falsehoods too, like those New Orleans stories in recent reporting. Those stories are not true. ... Now, having said all of this, I'm not going to answer endless questions about it all over again and again and again and again.
