Would WH Have Used NSA Provided (Palfrey) Phone Records To Keep GOPers In Line?
CNN LARRY KING LIVE - Transcript

Aired: July 17, 2007

KING: What bothers you the most is the hypocrisy, right?

FLYNT: It's the biggest threat to democracy.

KING: Speaking out on morals?

FLYNT: Yes.

KING: Jeane, does that bother you, when people speak out on morality and then act immorally?

PALFREY: It bothers me considerably. And the reason that I ultimately released the phone records, as I did, was this very point, the hypocrisy.

There’s another point that needs to be mentioned as well, perhaps even more important, and that is the susceptibility of blackmail of certain clients having used the service over the years. Most people at the moment for obvious reasons are focusing upon the hypocrisy angle. However, intellectualize a bit, think about it a bit, and you’ll come to the conclusion that we’ve come to, that there are possible people who have used the service who have become subjects and targets of blackmail. And many of these people being in D.C. most likely have security clearances.

KING: Thank you all very much. We'll be doing a lot more on this -- Jeane Palfrey, Montgomery Sibley, and Larry Flynt.

1. I don't think it takes much to keep the guppies in line.
Of course, one does not throw away any advantage, present or future, in the nasty game of king of the hill.

2. Well, any RePuke Senator or Representative....
...whose from a state where support for the war has waned or a majority is against it and yet continues to support BushCo's war would be suspect in my book....

6. That's very interesting....
...I've got all of Sandford's Prey series novels. But I hadn't heard about this one. I'll have to check it out.

4. and other than vitter are there other repubs sens or reps on the Madam's list?
And do you really think it would take pressure to keep vitter "in line" -- you think he's secretly a moderate rational guy?

7. Vitter wasn't who I was speculating about....
...because he's clearly an asshat Repuke of the first water.

I was thinking more along the lines of those who (no matter how erroneously) might be referred to as "moderate" Repukes....

11. According to the transcript....
...that I initially referenced and linked to in the OP, Larry Flynt has said that there is "a" senator that he was surprised was involved.

Whether that person's considered liberal, moderate or a knuckle-dragger isn't relevant to me. Just as long as they're exposed. Particularly those who spew hatred and discord, while pontificating about everyone's morality and how one should lead their lives....

12. Of course, they have a hell of a lot more info than we do...
they have the phone records of the people calling, as well as the DC Madam's returning the calls.
