I don't care if nothing gets done until 2008
The way that I see it, the two primary things that Congress should be working on are the impeachment of Bush & Cheney, and bringing all of our troops home. Home - not simply "redeploying" them to Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, where they can just be called back into Iraq on a moment's notice.

If the rethugs want to continue with their filibuster drivel, let them. We should just keep re-introducing the same piece of legislation over and over again. If they want their precious defense funding passed, they should be forced to do it our way - they've had it their way for far too long. I don't give a rat's ass if nothing else gets done in Congress - it will only be the Rethugs to blame for the continual deadlock! The American people sent a clear message in the '06 elections that they were sick and tired of the war, and yet * and the rethugs continue to thumb their noses at us. The people have spoken, let's give them what they demand!

4. Right on, frogcycle.
Nothing good can come from an administration filled with criminals.

2. It's what we need to get UN-done that is important
And lots of things can get undone legislatively. Prohibitions against revocation of habeas corpus, outlawing of military tribunals, rescinding Bush tax cuts, and on and on. Of course, even if he doesn't veto it, Bush ignores all laws, but he would do exactly the same if impeachment proceedings were initiated.

5. of course, and we should try
but the fact is if all we can do is stop further unravelling until the bastards are gone, that beats the shit out of where we were last October.

6. The war won't end until Bush is out of office
So they can wait 'til he's out of office, or *take* him out of office.
