And to think that all those people died through the use of stupid slogans. |
|
Stupid slogans that fit nicely on bumper stickers.
'Fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them here'.
'Iraq is the central front in the war on terror'.
'Bring em' on'. 'To cut and run would mean defeat'.
'No artificial timetable for leaving Iraq'.
'America is safer but not yet safe'.
'Freedom and liberty are on the march'.
'If we don't defeat the enemy they will follow us home'.
'We must continue the fight in Iraq to honor the fallen'.
'When the Iraqi people stand up we will stand down'.
'Freedom is God's gift to the world'.
'Our enemies hate us for our freedoms'.
'The war on terror is the calling of this generation'.
'If we leave too soon Iraq will fall into chaos'.
'Dissent of the war hurts the morale of the soldiers'.
'Support the troops'.
Uncountable thousands of Iraqis have died, almost 4000 soldiers are in their graves, 25,000 soldiers are grievously wounded, trillions of dollars have been wasted and stolen, thousands have been tortured to death on all sides, our nation is about to collapse in on itself, as is the middle east, and it was all done with the clever use of stupid slogans, sound bytes, buzz words, and catch phrases.
Slogans of mass destruction.

1. To hear people call into c-span I would say faith is the reason |
|
This 'faith' that Bush uses that he is doing the right thing and so many thinking if he does it it is right. Reason is out the window. Terrorist are all faith that they are right and anything goes to make the point. I never knew what a child of the enlightenment I and my family were until now guess some of us missed the enlightenment and the age or reason. It was where our 'founders' came from.

2. Yes, blind faith is a wonderful thing. |
|
I listen to the callers every morning too, and my God they are scary. Faith, hope and charity are supposedly the three virtues or some such shit, charity is the only one that does anyone any good.

4. Watch the war supporters go ballistic when told we are causing the war |
|
Confront a repug with: 'Fighting them over there, so we don't have to fight them here. 'Freedom and liberty are on the march' 'Freedom is God's gift to the world'
and similar slogans and tell them we are escalating the war with our policies.
Some of the insurgents are not interested in western religion, morals, values, and government. When we try to force our way of life on them, they fight back.

5. Don't forget "stay the course!" |
|
aka "Neck deep in the Big Muddy and the damn fool says push on." How many lives has that one cost us--and the innocent Iraqis who are getting peace and freedom shoved up their butts at gunpoint?
Nobody died when Clinton lied.

7. They couldn't have done it without the full complicity of the corporate media. |
|
They couldn't have stolen elections, and couldn't have gotten away with the lies and smears of honest patriots.
