And it doesn't faze him in the least. No conscience = no guilt.

2. Just curious. Do you think the guy is giving love the shrub because...
a. He's getting paid to do this.

b. He actually refuses to believe that he lost his limbs so that the Military Industrial Complex and Oil companies could profit because it would destroy him.

c. He'll actually get his entitled benefits if he shows the love.

d. We've been completely wrong and this glorious war is actually completely just and well thought out and we're fighting them there so they don't jump out of Aisle 5 in Walmart over here.

4. Maybe in the celebrity- and media-driven environment we've created,
this unfortunate guy's excitement about meeting the preznit eclipses his loss. I don't know what I'd do if I were this troop, but I'd like to think that I'd turn a photo op into a smackdown.

Most people cover such things... I think that was his statement.

I'd be excited to meet any president, I think. But the excitement would wear off quickly if I ever met this one.

21. Look at it this way, Thomas:
Said lying fuck has not even begun to pay the price for his actions. He will.

Imagine going into history as being, very likely, one of the most, if not the most, vilified and disliked public officials of any stripe in the history of the republic. Imagine being the political death of a family that saw itself as being America's Dynasty. Imagine being the person directly responsible for an erosion of a nation's international position that will take multiple generations to put right.

And then, there are the legal issues that we have yet to begin to resolve. They are gonna take up a lot of his time in the years ahead as well.

Nah, it's gonna suck to be him, starting in the very near future and going on for many years after that. Who knows? he could be the first former president to punch his own ticket, and i don't say that lightly. When the reality of his actions and their consequences ultimately intrude on his sociopathy, and they will, especially when he finds himself abandoned by former sycophants and vilified around the world, unwanted for his counsel and uninvited to events, he would very well take the most immediate and self-indulgent way out of this vale of tears. You can be sure that he will return to the solace of his old running buddy, John Barleycorn, for he will have few, if any, social-based support systems.

And then, he will not be mourned, except by a handful of his most toxic fellow travelers. Certainly not by larger society. And he will know, in the marrow of his soul, it is all his own fault.

And you have brought me down from the ceiling and off the walls many times, friend.

48. The exchange between you and T_S is an odd one
On the one hand your words describe the Bush we all know - but if you are to write the history books, young children will not be able to read them (Yet we who have been made into adults by the heartless insanity of the Bush years can very well feel that your words ring true)

Then there is the reply from T_S - and his eloquence would do well for those history books - and it is language that even a child could read - but it is of an eloquence of a past era (In today's dumbed down schools - such language would be prohibited.)

Both your responses are correct -but the tone is so different.

as in "support the troopS" (plural) or "you're fucking up again, Troop" (as in my military career.)
