1. Maybe Lieberman will get whisked off to Oz.
Too much to wish for though, I suppose.

4. Yes, there have. New Haven was decimated by a tornado
about 18 years ago, (I was newly engaged, that's how I remember the approximate time) and Litchfield gets a lot of tornadic type activity. Always has.

8. A tornado landed two blocks from my house on LI yesterday.
It was big news until that steam pipe blew up in Manhattan.

Weather is most definitely getting weird around here.

9. I saw that a tornado had touched down on LI.
We get them here pretty often. I'll never forget right after Hurricane Isabel a funnel cloud was at the end of my street, but it didn't touch down.

Pretty frightening stuff, that's for sure. Tornadoes scare the bejeeebus out of me.

10. Goodness. I had completely forgotten (or never knew).
That was during one of my periods of lost years.

11. I was born in New Haven and some of the most
beautiful old trees were completely destroyed by that storm. New Haven's nickname is 'The Elm City', and a lot of trees were lost.

Fortunately, no one was killed, IIRC and property damage to private homes was pretty minimal, but the trees. It was a truly heartbreaking thing to see.

5. Damn It
I've got 4th row tickets to the Red Sox tonight. It better not get rained (or tornadoed) out.

12. I'm in the litchfield hills and
just got in after driving through a pretty nasty storm. Limbs down on the roads and all that good stuff. No tornado yet.
