A suggestion regarding weather.
I know that there is a Weather section at DU. I think that there should be a more specific Record Weather forum where Du'ers can report local and National extreme and/or record weather. The forum would be restricted to record patterns, such as the 18-month drought in Florida that has gotten scant MSM coverage. This would also discourage the "that's normal for this area" posts that usually crop up in extreme weather threads.
Suggestions are welcome, but I may not be able to respond for some time.
Thanks for reading this.

2. I think there are new fires being reported.
But to answer your question, the Lake region in particular. Before the summer rains, the Lake was at the lowest point ever, and officials stated that abnormally high rainfall would not even put a dent in it.

3. You might consider starting a DU Weather Group, and invite all DUers...
to post there when there is extreme or unusual weather in their area. Here is a link to the process to start a DU Group:

Once the Group is started, Skinner posts announcements so it's widely known -- and you could ocntinue to post reminders that the Group is there in order to collect this information. I think you have an interesting idea.

4. Thank you very much!
I was not aware of that feature.
I know the Weather seems a bit trivial in light of recent events.
Thanks again.

5. Not at all! I posted a video of a huge dust storm in Phoenix...
in Videos, and someone said that was a normal occurrence, while someone else wondered if it was part of a new Dust Bowl kind of thing. And how much of our strange weather is attributable to global warming? I think this is an important topic.
