Ghilotti Released from Monitoring
A Marin County judge this morning decided to release convicted serial rapist Patrick Ghilotti from a state-mandated monitoring program.
Judge John Stephen Graham said, "The good people of Vacaville did not ask for this problem. But with no new petition, I'm not in authority to do anything."
Psychiatrists for Liberty Healthcare, which had contracted for the state to oversee the conditional release program for Ghilotti, said based on its reports, Ghilotti was no longer a threat to the community. The Marin County district attorney's office, which handled Ghilotti's prosecution, retained an independent psychiatric expert who also found that Ghilotti posed little, if any, threat.
