I really never said what is really in my heart -
But it always was.

I do love you guys - we don't agree all the time - no one does. But some very bad times - when the kid called me scared to death - you guys were there. I know.

And we have the same heart. We love those kids - some of you guys were those kids - We are all of the same mind now.

I never really believed there was much of a difference between true conservatives and liberals. Just the opposite ends of an eagle - nothing more. Just two voices of the same america.

We all do agree right now what we have to do.

Joe

4. alas, I don't see the agreement you speak of
conservatives aren't trying to end the war or bring our kids home. They've eased off calling anyone who doesn't support the war an anti-american traitor, but they're still resisting efforts to bring the military home.

5. You know you confuse them with "W" supporters -
It was always a war of foreign intrigue - they never agreed - they were just shup up.

6. well, some of them are distinguishable form "W" supporters, but some of them still support the man
and I certainly don't see overwhelming numbers of them working to end the war. Dubya is a lame duck, but most of the characters that conservatives are supporting to replace him aren't calling for a renunciation of his iraq policy.

8. This is about principle.
I believe in my heart - all americans have the same principle.

It is strange - isn't it - that the true pricipled liberal agree with the true conservatives - cause it proves one thing. That america is an eagle with two wings and truth is that thing that happens when the wings cross. They are crossing.

10. I think that true principled liberals and true principled conservatives are very different and have
very different visions of what America can and should be. Yes, there may be some things we agree on, and most may share a definite and sincere hope for and belief in (what they see as) the ideal(s) of America, but the conservative and liberal ideals aren't equivalent. That doesn't mean that we can never have any common ground, but I think it unwise to treat the occasional common ground as though it erased or overwhelmed important ideological differences.

As for the truth--liberals knew the truth about this war long before the wings crossed ;)

11. Oh - about the war -
Maybe not for the same reasons.

Like that matters.

We can argue about tax policy etc until we are
blue in the face - and so what?? I don't care.

We are, I think, at the edge of a thirld world war - one that really puts the country in true jeopardy.

And they debate "appropriations" or something?? -

This is REALLY serious - not internal anymore.

This is about how much you believe in the american experiment.

And it was that.

Look - daddy ran an oil company - and I paid attention - I have no problem with capitalists - I have a BIG problem with what is going on here.

It is just wrong.

There can only be one stategy to diffuse this - don't be in a position to have to buy their oil - that is a strategy.

And I KNOW - we can do that.

Why in GOD are these idiots not getting that!!!!

JOe

7. I think he's talking about the kind of Conservatives who were "Republicans for Kerry"
the fiscally conservative, anti-war, pro-environment Republicans.
