In the Senate NOW - complete INSANITY
I think I am the only one here watching, am I? Just to give you a flavor of what is going on at this very moment: a sense of the senate introduced by McConell is being read in its entirety. Purpose of the amendement: to condemn pardons made by Clinton as inappropriate. Just before this: vote on a Salazar amendment expressing the sense of the senate that Bush should not pardon Scooter. I am a very slow typist... as I write this, they are still reading the list of inappropriate Clinton pardons in detail.

13. A clerk
Unless the senator submitting it says that it does not have to be read, the whole amendment/bill/whatever is being read. They wanted the whole list to be read. Earlier insanity/fun: after Salazar introduced his amendment about Scooter, Kyl stood up and with a poker face said that this is a political amendment and that they have NEVER introduced political amendments. At which point there was loud laughter, I assume from the gallery, it was not shown. There was no comment though about maintaining the order, because I think that everybody understood that whatever order there was it was long gone.

32. They are jealous of him - and have been for quite some time
They envy his popularity, his charisma, his intelligence, his political savvy, his ability to connect with the average person, his command of the issues.

It just drives them nuts that he has everything, and they don't have a candidate who is nowhere near as beloved as former President Clinton.

and I think Conyers is investigating that --
so the GOP is probably looking to make "comparisons" --

9. They see this as some partisan game, when any patriot ought to be impeaching ANY president like *
They see it as right versus left, when it is about right versus WRONG.

If any person usurp the Constitution and flaunted subpoenas and lied us into a war, they should be impeached, left or right, Republican or Democrat.

The partisanship on this is UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE.

These bastards swore to DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION not defend their party leader.

28. I'm in agreement with both resolutions.
Let's admit once and for all that Clinton pardoned some people for no good reason except his personal choice. Let's also let Hillary off the hook since she didn't make the pardons, Bill did. Then let's move on to point out that Bush's pardon of Scooter is much worse since Scooter is involved in an active investigation.

I believe the first Repub offered sense of the Senate amendment was on Gitmo.

Bottom line - Why do Republicans hate an educated citizenry??

Maybe they should schedule debate for the next important bill on a Friday. If the GOP wants to pull this childish tantrum again, they can cut into their own weekend campaigning/fund raising time.

How do they get away with this type of bullshit? And I am talking about both parties. The senate should not be bogged down by stupid little things like this that make the senators feel better. They should be debating real laws that are applicable in the real world. If you have a problem with someone or something, write a damn letter to the editor or something. Don't waste my tax dollars pushing crap that has no real world application.
