Sheer right-wing hatred for Elizabeth Edwards - Where's the outrage?
How come this stuff doesn't turn up on Drudge?

I cannot respect any man who hides behind his wife's IV pole.

Brilliant strategy. Brilliant tactics:

A few months ago, Coulter got in hot water for commenting on the Left's habit of using victims as mouth pieces to avoid debate. her famous examples were the Jersey Girls.

Edwards wants to use his wife's illness (victimhood), and the electorate's sympathy as cover for articulating a series of liberal trial balloons.

They arrange a confrontation with Coulter on Mathews' show at the outset of the tactical implementation, thus neutralizing Coulter, a vehement and effective critic of Edwards.

Mrs. Edwards proceeds to float the balloons on her husband's behalf- gay marriage, fed-funded abortion on demand, etc.

Nicely planned, well-executed. And now transparent.

These are two of the biggest phonies on the planet? Does she really have cancer? Wouldn't that just be a slap in the face if she was playing that card? Nothing is beyond the imagination of these two. This guy was an idiot in 2004 and now he has his wife joining him for the Darwin Award in 2008. They are despicable, disingenuous people and that's their good qualities. I get upset just hearing and seeing them on TV or in the papers. These are people most self respecting people in this country never want to be. I saw him pandering to poor people on TV. How low will he go? As low as it takes him. He has no boundaries and actually neither does Mrs. Victim.

The Breck Girl's whole intention is to bait Rush into saying something about his wife a la Michael J Fox. If Silky can get that to happen, his poll numbers will soar, he thinks. Mrs The Breck Girl is hoping to get Rush into the mix. The Ann Coulter milking has not panned out as planned. The Breck Girl family will be going into battle, each with a plastic spoon versus Smart Bombs and nukes if they want to tango with Meeester Big.

#33 asks if she really has cancer. I was thinking the same thing. And if she does have early-stage breast cancer, isn't the cure rate very high?

I would put nothing past those two. Did they have to have a press conference to announce that she had breast cancer?

I dislike the Edwards's as much as I dislike the Kerry's and the Clinton's.

1. Some of these people
need remedial English.

Apostrophes are for POSSESSIVE nouns, not plural nouns.

So close to illiterate, but, yet, so far.

7. Truth...
But it SO undermines their arguments.

I'd just as soon they were either truly literate (which would improve their outlook immensely) or completely illiterate (which would prevent them from spreading their stupid messages).

One or the other. This half-literacy is annoying.

11. I never thought of it that way.
You may be on to something there. I've rarely read an intelligent or positive thought that was written with atrocious grammar.

16. I won't argue with that, but even here on DU, I see so many grammatical,
Edited on Thu Jul-19-07 10:47 PM by tech3149
punctuation, or spelling errors that I don't pay much attention to what the poster has to say. I figure I only remember about 10% of what I was taught in grade school, so I try not to take anyone to the woodshed for their errors. I blame age and too many distilled beverages for my problem, so I've got no one to blame but myself. For the younger generations, I don't want to fault them for being "taught to the test" and being drawn to the "pig-english" of text messaging and being sold the "newspeak" of our day. If I can decipher some significant meaning out of what they type (even considering spelling and grammatical errors), I'll consider the statements and thoughts as valid for discussion. That's probably one reason I don't even open links to FR, because I know from experience that I'll see some twisted logic that I can't comprehend or language that presents no interpretation of reality that jives with he facts that can be confirmed through other sources.

I understand it's a tough world we're living in, but if you want to try to convince me that you have valid ides, we have to be speaking the same language. After all, words, like elections have meanings.

edit: trolls feel free to jump on me,I feel ready for a knockdown-drag-out, kick you in the balls argument. I would ask you here so that this forum can document A BLOW BY BLOW discussion. After all how much should it take to humiliate a drunken old fart that only became political in 2003. C'mon wussy, I'm just a tired old drunk that's been chained to my puter for the last 5 years. I'm weak, soft and really slow. Any Rightard worth their salt could probably take me down with their foul breath. How about we do a multi-format beatdown? We'll post the beatdown on bartcop and FR and any other forum you'd like. I've got nothing to lose, how about you? I've put my ass on the line before and I don't mind doing it again. The only thing I have to live for are my 86/yo parents, even taking on puke trolls, I'm sure I can last long enough to take care of them till their dying days even if you kick my ass.

3. I was talking with my daughter yesterday
She had found an apparently abandoned kitten and was trying to find the owner in case it was just lost. She walked clear around her neighborhood - kind of a yuppieville near Peoria. She was amazed at how big of assholes and just plain nasty people live in her neighborhood.
She ended up bringing us the kitten. We discussed how mean Americans have become over the past 7 years and how so many people seem to only be wrapped up in their own lives. She sees a slice of it daily as a high school teacher but was actually overwhelmed at the reaction of her neighbors. She said they yelled at her, slammed the door in her face, stared her down etc. She said her eyes were really open to what I had been quietly describing to her.
So give people like that anonymity and they can be satan incarnate. I doubt that it would do much good to try to respond on Lucianne's website. That would just give the cretin's more opportunity to spill their bile and prove to the other cretin's that they are "MEN".
Better I think, that we redouble our efforts for net neutrality so that truth can be accessed somewhere and the Luciannes of the world marginalize themselves.

6. The thing is…
Those same people like to cherry-pick lone nut comments from Daily Kos and they end up in magnified in the mainstream as examples of "Bush hatred." Here's you've got an entire website of whackos and no one seems to notice.

... A good woman. I guess it blows their circuits and undermines their worldview that she's a Democrat, so they attack her.

10. Why do we give them any forum at all?
Truly.

If they think that Ann Coulter's Chardonnay-fueled*, bigoted rants are more accurate than whatever Elizabeth Edwards might say on any subject, they don't have the critical thinking skills necessary to vote in the first place.

In the meantime, I see they're up to their old tricks. Claiming that Mrs. Edwards doesn't have cancer? Gosh, whom does that remind this entire site of?

Here's to many, many more years for the wonderful Mrs. Edwards.

You know, they just made up Wade for sympathy.

:sarcasm:

Oh, the depths to which some people will sink! I never realized there is such visceral hatred out there for John Edwards - you'd think he was Hillary Clinton. Of course, some of that hatred is right here on DU, although it is far more tactful here.

To clarify my opening sentence - I haven't found evidence of any Right Wing Freak saying John and Elizabeth made up Wade, but after some of the other comments I have seen, it wouldn't surprise me.

on edit:
changed :eyes: to sarcasm icon just to make sure it is clear, my comment was intended as a parody of what some of these sick creeps might think.

13. right wing???
"The Edwards campaign can count itself lucky in that reporters were distracted from the “haircut” stories when ABC’s Raelyn Johnson reported from the “poverty” tour that “Elizabeth Edwards was showing off her MBT sneakers to reporters on the plane yesterday; the shoes, which purport to reduce cellulite, retail for $245.” Oh, those innovative nutroots-embracing madcap Trippi campaigners! What will they think of next?"
