Poll question: DU, where ya at? ...... A geographic distribution survey. |
I'm fascinated by which parts of America are represented on DU. I suspect all parts are well represented, including my great state of Michigan here in the Great Lakes region. What region do you represent (as in, live in right now)?

Northern Virginia vs. rest of Virginia -- subject of WaPo stories over the last year (especially when dealing with politics and the changes -- red to blue -- that have occurred in the outer DC suburbs).
As a Northern Virginia resident, I don't consider myself living in the mid- to deep-South (although I did select that to be technically accurate). I tend to describe my home as being the DC metropolitan area.

95. I had to vote for the "Deep South" |
I live in Florida, but reside in Palm Beach County. We are more like New York City than Alabama, Mississippi, and the rest of the South. I think our Jewish population is among the highest in the nation.
Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade (With the exception of the anti-Fidel nuts) is definitely not part of the "Deep South". But travel a few miles North to Martin County, and you'll find the home of a branch of the Ku Klux Klan. Go even farther north, and with the exception of college towns like Gainesville and Orlando, it's definitely part of the Deep South. I can always tell when I'm out of Palm Beach County when I see the anti-abortion and "Support Our Leader (GWB)" billboards.
