Question: why don't rec's also "kick" a thread?
It seems obvious that if you recommend a thread, you think it's worthy enough to be kicked to the top of the list. Yeah, it would do away with our beloved "K&R n/t" responses, but shouldn't a rec just automatically act as a kick?

Also, why not have poll responses kick the poll?

3. That and multiple vote polls make sense to me
A poll the other day asked which of the following candidates would you not vote for. Several people responeded that they wouldn't vote for 5 out of the 10, or whatever it was, indicating that a better picture might have been given by the poll had people been able to check more than one block, so to speak.

You can rec a thread without posting.

You probably already knew that.

BTW, "It's the post that kicks" sounds like a slogan for a cereal

5. It's not much trouble to also post something too.
I'm sure the OP appreciates the feedback on a post as well as a rec.

6. Actually
I often find that when I rec a thread, someone else simultaneously posts to it. Weird huh?

7. I've always thought that a rec should kick it as well as on polls
a vote should kick it.

10. A rec or vote should count as much as a post.
Someone who wants to recommend a thread or vote in a poll is actively participating in the original post as much as one who "replies" IMHO. So, what's the prob?

11. Would that turn every page into the Greatest, though? Pinning threads like that to the top?
