It's a shame that the puppy mill industry is allowed to exist at all with no little regulation and oversight. Puppies should not be an agricultural product. :(

10. My children and I volunteer walking dogs at an animal shelter.

There are so many wonderful dogs to adopt through these facilities. We currently have a lab mix and a border collie mix from ours that are such lovable dogs. If folks would adopt from shelters they would put the puppy mills out of business. I realize some folks insist on having pure bred dogs (my husband calls them limited gene pool dogs), but I would like to suggest going to your local shelter and seeing the dogs there before making a decision.

BTW if you are totally stressed out from living under the bush regime, volunteering is an excellent stress reduction!
