And how she spoke for the amendment in the House...but, IIRC, though it passed the House, it didn't make it through the senate. Back to "go." In that light, the flyer was a dud.
Don't get me wrong, I think that my rep, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, is one of the best. Supported her reelection, not too hard, she was
unopposed. That's my point. This is a career moment for a young congresswoman on the Judiciary Committee.
I wrote back:
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for your great work on redeployment. Supporting our troops means getting them out of that mess as soon as possible. It will be better for Iraq too.
But let's get to important matters.
Every day, the Bush regime defies the lawful constitutional oversight powers of Congress over the executive branch. The president has instructed individuals to ignore Congressional subpoenas. This is impeachable! And it's also just the tip of the iceberg.
Every day, damage is done to this democracy that should not be tolerated.
Every day, more trolls and sycophants are embedded into the government to do years of damage, long after Bush is gone.
So... IMPEACH! Do not waste time. Lay out the case. The people will get behind you. Votes? Build it, and they will come. Really, you've got to throw the bums out.
Thanks for your time and your good work in the House of Representatives.
I don't know if it breaks any rules to criticize an individual rep on DU, but this is not that. We need to encourage our reps to lead the charge.
Somebody should get the ball rolling, but preferably not one of the usual lefties, who are our great allies, but face it, they've already been calling for impeachment, in effect, and they need movement.
