This alternate reality, bush* world we live in now sucks |
|
so when we wake one morning soon and hear that there has been another suspected terrorist strike here in our country and the pRez has declared martial law, what do we do then? It'll be too damn late to do anything about not letting it happen in the first place anymore. Surely this cabal won't start making mass arrest of dissenter's will they? Something tells me they will and are planning on doing just that.

1. I'm not sure there'd be enough cooperation for mass round-ups to go easily... |
|
There's not a majority here who supports Bush (in Germany, a compliant majority helped round up scapegoated minorities...)
Not to be Pollyannaish -- it'd be a hell of a time, and those who made it through will have tales for their grandchildren -- but: That would finally be their last overconfident miscalucation... and everything, including the economy that props them up, will start to come tumbling down...

2. I don't know what to expect, never been around anything remotely like this |

either the rounding up or the way our country has taken a turn for the worst. I do know I am more worried now than I was during the Cuban missile crisis of years gone by.

3. well, no, none of us really knows what to expect -- terra incognito, |

to make an inadvertant pun....
Perhaps - not on this board -- we should each consider what our plans would be when the "round up" announcement comes...

but I was a naive teenager
I didn't take it seriously
Oh, I remember thinking it could blow - and that if it did that would be that - but I just didn't think it would happen
this is different. this juggernaut is running hard and fast, and doesn't mind collateral damage. We don't have MAD to count on this time.

5. I was just starting my teens and for some reason as I look back on it I was really worried |
|
I'm sure that being raised practically in church, Southern Baptist hellfire and brimstone indoctrination might have had something to do with that too, I just don't know.
