The guy was an idiot...and CNN is three days late to this Botulism recall which was posted by DU'er and the post went to archives fast!
Anyway, the recall listed two OTHER BRANDS manufactured for sale and consumers wouldn't get from that Clueless Anchor who came over from Fox...(Rick Sanchez) that folks need to know that that there are TWO OTHER BRAND NAMES and folks are going to look for manufactured by CASTLEBERRY and not the brand that's on the label.
Anyway, FDA has EXPANDED RECALL of the CHILI SAUCE SOLD FOR HOT DOGS and it include beyond the dates of the FIRST RECALL. THE FDA DIDN'T INCLUDE THE DATES OF THE EXPANDED RECALL and Didn't even say you CAN DIE OF BOTULISM! :eyes:
ANYWAY ...look on the label of any "chili sauce" and try to find that it's manufactured by CASTLEBERRY and according to FDA DORK ...who looked scared shitless...TIE IT IN A PLASTIC BAG AND SEAL IT WITH A TWISTIE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Tainted hot dog chili sauce sends 4 to hospital
"WASHINGTON - Federal health officials warned consumers Wednesday to throw away certain cans of hot dog chili sauce after the product was linked to botulism that has sent four people to the hospital.
The warning applies to 10-ounce cans of Castleberry’s, Austex and Kroger brands of hot dog chili sauce with “best by” dates from April 30, 2009, through May 22, 2009, the Food and Drug Administration said. It wasn’t immediately clear how widely the products were distributed.
<snip>
Botulism is a muscle-paralyzing disease caused by a toxin made by a bacterium called Clostridium botulinum, according to the CDC.
Brackett urged consumers to discard any of the recalled cans without opening them. “The toxin is so potent if they get it on their hands or it sprays in their face, it could make them ill,” he said..."
The recall covers the following universal product codes:
Castleberry’s Hot Dog Chili Sauce (UPC 3030000101);
Austex Hot Dog Chili Sauce (UPC 3030099533);
Kroger Hot Dog Chili Sauce (UPC 1111083942).More:
