even when we disagree I have found that we can have fun at that. Too bad that newercomers didn't have the advantage of a smaller forum that allowed enough conversations for folks to "get" where others are coming from and to appreciate from where their posts come... and thus can respond accordingly. I LOVE some of the folks I had words with early on. :-D (and then there are almost fond memories of some who I didn't get along so well with - who are no longer with us... who in memory almost recall a fondness... like a certain DCer who briefly became a floridian - way back when...)

but as a longtimer... I just received my first, ever, PM that said "I am now on ignore" - due to one of those ugly threads and my lack of resistance to responding to the nastiness. Leave it up to other readers as to whether that is a good thing or a bad thing.... Perhaps many have put me on ignore - but I have never had a nasty gram to tell me of my new status. And somehow - it seems not to matter much. So while I hear your encouragement for us not to act. Please know that I rarely step up to bait. That over five years I have strove to be civil - but that sometimes there is a point of tipping. If a poster has been baiting for ages and then passes the crass/crude/tasteless line and then attacks others for objecting? There is a point where my civility melts - and that happened tonight.
