My favorite epithet since I first saw him. When I think of Terri Schaivo, sadly I don't think about our shared name, I think of Jesus Christ on a Trailer Hitch. example:

For example, today I was in traffic and was sitting next to some huge landscaper truck. The truck was painted up with signs telling what he did: one was "lawn racking."

There's a well-known study of how people consult books. I can't recall the names of the researchers but it's known as the "teacher mommy" studies. They looked at various socio-economic groups and observed how parents taught their children. In some cases, they didn't bother teaching them anything--the kid was expected to pick it up from observation. In other groups, people went to others for information.
