Bush Determined to Strike in U.S.
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 12:53 AM by FightingIrish
If we had been warned in the weeks and days leading up t 9-11 that our government was going to allow an attack that would ultimately salvage a floundering administration and it’s global objectives, would we have given it the slightest credence? What if the warnings came from Republican insiders who knew the true motives behind the stolen election of 2000? Americans are uncomfortable with the notion that their elected leaders are capable of cold-blooded tyranny and betrayal of their sacred trust. Few would have listened and those few could have done nothing.

Former Reagan administration official Paul Craig Roberts makes a pretty persuasive argument that the Bush administration’s worsening political fortunes can only be reversed by another national nightmare. He states quite logically that an administration that has acted as ruthlessly as this one will not be content to watch the Republican party implode in 2008 and their efforts of eight years turn to dust. He cites Bush’s executive order of July 17, 2007 as part of the groundwork for securing power permanently after yet another “Pearl Harbor”. It is chillingly similar to his brother Jeb’s remarkably prescient martial law executive order of September 7, 2001.

Oregon’s congressman Peter DeFazio may have gotten a hint of what is in the works when he was recently denied access to the administration’s secret plan for continuity of government in the event of a terrorist attack, even though he sits on the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee.

The signs this time are disturbingly clear and ominous although the chatter is mostly domestic. The dots hardly need connecting. We’ve had Chertoff’s intestinal rumblings and sore loser Rick Santorum’s promise of “unfortunate events” soon to come. When it happens, it will matter little if the American people see it for the treachery it is. This time they will have everything in place to effectively deal with the unlikely eventuality that the compliant flock stampedes.

Many African-Americans there, and therefore many Dem voters. And so a Katrina-like disaster would have the potential to seal Ohio as a red state even without using rigged voting machines. :scared:

No such thing as an Unforgivable Curse as far as they're concerned. (Wonder what I've been reading these last twenty-some hours...) And yet I'm still not ready to believe that they planned 9-11 or are planning similar events for the future. Failed to stop, perhaps. Took full advantage of after the fact, definitely. Beyond that....

The president is most assuredly not the "good guy" here. Another 9-11, and martial law is likely. I am amazed at the number here who say it won't happen. Do they recall what this crowd has already done? How they lied us into war? The attempt to put sycophants into all the U.S. attorney positions? They are capable of at least trying to cancel the elections and retain power that way. I don't think they can rely on rigging the voting this time. Which makes the martial law scenario a possibility.

5. That is why I am prepared for a disaster...
I saw the injustice...as those Katrina victims waited and waited---DAYS--for bottled water
and food.

This administration enjoys inflicting pain and suffering on those who are vulnerable.

I am prepared for disasters because I do not trust this administration with ANYTHING, so
why would I put my---or my family's---health and well being in their slimy hands?

I hope everyone here at DU has a plan and some emergency supplies if something
bad happens in this country--whether it's a natural disaster or a terrorist attack.

The sheltering kit has everything I need for us for a month, including meds, a well stocked first aid kit with surgical tools in case I need to perform brain surgery, two radios, blankets, lots of water, MRES for me, kibble for the animals, a small set of tools, a couple of battery powered camp lights, a propane camp stove.

Our PROTECTIVE DUCT TAPE and some plastic sheeting -- because there's nothing like duct tape to ward off earthquakes! Liquor cigs and cash for bribes -- except I keep smoking and spending! No gun, I'd only hurt someone. :)

14. Speaking about the injustice of Katrina............
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 01:59 AM by discerning christian
Two things I've learned this week. I watched the re runs of Waxmens hearings on FEMA and the trailers tainted by formaldehyde making some people ill and some deaths that may be connected to it. It pissed me off as to their indifference, especially after reading somewhere here on DU that FEMA was going to "donate" the unused trailers to the Native Americans. I guess they are trying to kill them off as well!!! The next thing I learned was that U.S. scientists may have re directed the path of Katrina to save other heavily populated areas from the devastation!!! Perhaps Jeb's State, or Texas???? I don't have a thread to confirm this, because I don't have the whole story yet, but I can give you the time , channel and program that will discuss it in the near future. Reporter Josh Bernstein will be doing a report"Can we control the weather?" on the Discovery Channel, Sunday Aug.5th at 8 P.M.(eastern time) It could prove to be quite an eye opener from the trailers I've seen!!!:grr:

17. According to Palast they knew about the levees and they experimented with Hurricanes since the 60's
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 02:54 AM by CGowen

The other thing I found that they didn't like is that how did those people who were left in the water, how did they drown? And I discovered, talking to the head of the LSU, Louisiana State University Hurricane Center--the people running the hurricane evacuation--they told me, the Chief, a guy named Ivor van Heerden, had been holding this information to himself, he couldn't stand it any more, he said, "Someone's got to speak out. Let me lose my job." What he was saying is that George Bush's White House--he emphasised the "White House"; not just the government--the White House knew 20 hours or so before the levees burst that they were cracking apart and the city was gonna flood.

He was running the operation at the hurricane center in Lousiana, the state of Louisiana, and they stopped evacuating New Orleans. They were all congratulating each other. Katrina never hit the city, it went east of the city, so they were evacuating east. The White House didn't tell them that the levees were failing, and those things collapsed and 1500 people drowned. So people think it's bad; think that George Bush screwed up. It's worse than that. It's worse than that.

Something just plain weird going on
I've been in touch with a truck driver friend. He told me he dropped his regular trailer at the company's terminal in CA, and bobtailed to a huge abandoned military base in Texas. He was given a non-descript white trailer.

There are now 300 trucks from his company, as well as hundreds from others. They're locked in on the grounds, and more trucks are arriving all the time. He's been sitting since early Saturday. They've been told they aren't allowed out of their trucks for more than twenty minutes, and there is a gubmint "roach coach" that comes by at mealtimes.

He said last night, a bunch of buses came in to take the drivers to a truckstop two hours away, where they all got free showers. He has no idea what they'll be hauling, or how long he'll be sitting there.

Any ideas?

74. I was not a DU member in 05, I've only heard about Mexican Army convoys in sept.
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 04:54 PM by CGowen

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/09/07/katrina/main824295.shtml

(AP) Mexican army convoys and a navy ship laden with food, supplies and specialists traveled to the U.S. Wednesday to help in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort — a highly symbolic journey marking the first time Mexico's military has aided its powerful northern neighbor.

....

The convoy represents the first Mexican military unit to operate on U.S. soil since 1846, when Mexican troops briefly marched into Texas, which had separated from Mexico and joined the United States.

It included military specialists, doctors, nurses and engineers carrying water treatment plants, mobile kitchens, food and blankets.

...

The convoy has "a very high symbolic content," said Javier Oliva, a political scientist at Mexico's National Autonomous University. "This is a very sensitive subject, for historic and political reasons."

Large Mexican flags were taped to many of the 35 olive-green Mexican Army trucks and tractor trailers as they rumbled northward toward the border Wednesday.

The convoy includes two mobile kitchens that can feed 7,000 people a day, three flatbed trucks carrying mobile water-treatment plants and 15 trailers of bottled water, blankets and applesauce. The 195 Mexicans taking part include military engineers, doctors and nurses.

...

The government was planning to send a second, 12-vehicle aid convoy to the U.S. sometime this week and has sent a Mexican navy ship equipped with rescue vehicles and helicopters to the Mississippi coast.

It could have been part of the drill for 2005 (but the funding was cut)

2005: Funding Cut For FEMA New Orleans Hurricane Response Exercise
Edit event

Funding is cut for a FEMA disaster exercise meant to prepare government agencies for a major hurricane in New Orleans. The exercise, a follow-up to the Hurricane “Pam” exercise that was conducted the prior year (see July 19-23, 2004), was to develop a plan to fix such unresolved problems as evacuating sick and injured people from the Superdome and housing tens of thousands of displaced residents. “Money was not available to do the follow-up,” Michael Brown, director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, will later say in an interview with the Associated Press. After the disastrous Hurricane Katrina, Eric Tolbert, FEMA’s former disaster response chief, will tell Knight Ridder Newspapers: “A lot of good was done, but it just wasn’t finished. I don’t know if it would have saved more lives. It would have made the response faster. You might say it would have saved lives.”

Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 04:37 AM by Knightly_Knews
Not that I am defending these pricks, but Formaldehyde is common in Formica and other construction materials...Up until a few years ago, treated lumber was made with Arsenic as well. Now it isn't. I have been working with these materials for 25+ years now...

Your other comment on the redirecting of Katrina does concern me.. I am also waiting to watch that story on Discovery.. But in the trailers they do not mention Katrina, it's Agatha or something like that.

The government has been controlling weather for a long time.. They can make it storm when they want, by simply salting the clouds with very fine salt granules(silver iodide).. It's called Cloud Seeding and is also contributed to Acid Rain!
http://www.ranches.org/cloudSeedingHarmful.htm
Hence "Operation Popeye" US Military:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Popeye
My father, who is a retired Navy Master Chief, was directly involved in this operation. And many more, I dare not discuss here in public.

Everything we see is not what it seems... Kinda like the Matrix.

When the time comes, which pill will you take? The red or the blue?

I'm taking cyanide!

btw: Threads have been locked here in the DU on the topic of weather modification, especially weather modification which hypothetically could have affected the path of Hurricane Katrina, not that anyone here is suggesting anything. :eyes:

35. Take from it what you will......
http://arcticcircle.uconn.edu/VirtualClassroom/HAARP/acf.html

A 1990 internal document obtained by POPULAR SCIENCE says the program's overall goal is to "control ionospheric processes in such a way as to greatly improve the performance of military command, control, and communications systems." It provides a description of the following applications:

# Injecting high-frequency radio energy into the ionosphere to create huge, extremely low frequency (ELF) virtual antennas used for earth-penetrating tomography peering deep beneath the surface of the ground by collecting and analyzing reflected ELF waves beamed down from above.
# Heating regions of the lower and upper ionosphere to form virtual "lertses" and "mirrors" that can reflect a broad range of radio frequencies far over the horizon to detect stealthy cruise missiles and aircraft.
# Generating ELF radio waves in the ionosphere to communicate across large distances with deeply submerged submarines.

And, patent documents filed during an earlier research effort that evolved into the HAARP program outline further military applications of ionospheric-heating technology:

# Creating a "full global shield" that would destroy ballistic missiles by overheating their electronic guidance systems as they fly through a powerful radio-energy field.
# Distinguishing nuclear warheads from decoys by sensing their elemental composition.
# Manipulating local weather.

116. I come at this from a positive position:
I feel using this tech as a weapon is the negative position. I have no clue what HAARP's potential is there. I am wondering if this technology could be developed into a shield which could protect our cities from tornadoes.

Here is my thinking: Is it possible that the path of a tornado is influenced by pressure, (as but one of many other influences)? Will a tornado follow a path of least resistance? If that path were to intersect a high pressure ridge, would the tornado's path be altered, perhaps even be deflected if that pressure ridge were strong enough? I am no student of weather but it seems to me that high pressure can be created naturally from the suns interaction with our planet. If this is so, if HAARP technology can heat the atmosphere above a city, it should be able to increase the barometric pressure above that city, perhaps enough to form a shield which would deflect the path of an oncoming tornado around that zone of higher presure.

I suspect that in our future, we will have the technology to shield our cities from weather devestations...I am just wondering if the HAARP technology is one which could be adaptable for that purpose at some point down the road.

The HIGH degree of formaldehyde in these "travel trailers" far exceeded the safe living enviroment. These trailers were not meant for full time living !! I live in a double wide mobile home, have COPD, and have never had any symptoms due to formaldehyde!

95. Formaldehyde is in virtually every home.
The question is, as with all poisons, in what doses. The problem with the formaldehyde in the FEMA trailers may, and I emphasize that I haven't measured it and don't know, that because of the small size of the trailers and the fact that they are probably not real well ventilated, the people living in them are exposed to too much formaldehyde in a specific amount of time. I don't know, but that may be the problem.

...is that if this terrorist "event" is a major, multi-city situation---this nation
will shrink into sheeple who will be terrified into following these Fascist thugs

A minority will understand what is really happening, but the majority of the country
will allow their fear to blind them into denial.

That's when it becomes ok to lock up those who oppose this administration and dare to
question their policies, the Iraq war, Iran or their other crimes.

It's scary out there...

9. I don't think it will be that simple for them.
On one hand, it's easy to manipulate us because the country is so big -- so it's easy to keep us divided or at least, not united enough to do things like a general strike.

But, because the country is so big, it would be very hard for a clamp down to be successful. One city, sure. The whole country, no way.

93. I'm not sure that's entirelly correct according to the Wikipedia article.
I'll check, but I think offhand that ETA or another party went to Carlos demanding he suspend the elections and he refused, under pressure from massive general strikes and demonstrations, claiming that suspending the elections would amount to a de facto coup.

Let me put it on my list to check for tonight and I'll get back to you. On your other point about the current administration I agree with you 1000 percent.

11. Peter DeFazio's denial of access to contingency documents
I heard that, while DeFazio was refused access to these documents, they were apparently made available to republican congressmen. In other words, bush didn't want any democrats seeing these documents "for some reason." Is that true?

12. The Portland Oregonian article didn't mention
Republican access. It did state that he was told he could see the documents and then the approval was withdrawn.

"Homeland Security Committee staffers told his office that the White House initially approved his request, but it was later quashed. DeFazio doesn't know who did it or why."

16. Chertoff said something of Bay Area
Edited on Sun Jul-22-07 02:46 AM by CGowen

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security designated the Bay Area as one of the six urban regions in the country most at risk for terrorist attacks.

The announcement came on the same day Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced who would receive nearly $750 million in anti-terror grants.

elsewhere people say he said "LA/SF dirty bombs"

48. Building 7 had some powerful offices
AIRC: CIA, SEC, several banks, Secret Service, NYC offices of emergency management, etc. All the more reason why it had to go, apparently.

Besides, Mr. Chertoff's "gut" hasn't told him or us the precise nature of this "next" event. Perhaps it will be radiological, creating more panic and fear than destruction to valuable SF real estate. Then again, perhaps it won't happen at all. Most of what they're about is making sure we never forget how much we need THEM! (props to "V")

60. Anyone can make a tape after an event then claim responsibility.
The tapes, if in fact they were at all produced by Osama Bib Laden, do not in any way prove he is responsible for the planes hitting the WTC, even if he stated he wanted to do such a thing.

Have you seen any tapes BEFORE 9/11 where he states his objectives? And if he did, how could he have carried out such a plan after announcing his intentions?

Oh wait, he DID say he was comin' to get us. Condi even read the memo on TV. Damn!

So, we knew what he was going to do, yet the most powerful military in the world could not stop a few cave dwellers from attacking from way across the globe, sneaking past numerous security checkpoints, to slam planes into buildings even though the air force already had planes in the air participating in a drill. Wow! What a conspiracy theory!

.... and how convenient for Bushler and the PNACers, who wanted to "hit the trifecta." In fact, they even put it in print, in the form of a manifesto, that they wanted this to happen. The PNACers wrote newspaper articles, gave speeches, and did interviews on TV stating their philosophy and objectives... kinda like Osama's did on video. It's almost as if Osama was working with the PNACers in order to initiate the actions we are seeing today.

Didn't Osama say he was going to cause us to radically change our system of government? That we would lose our freeedoms, and democratic way of life? Isn't that what Bushler&Co, are doing right now? What a coincidence!!! Again, it's as if Osama and Cheney are working together; they both have common goals which have come to fruition.

Didn't the CIA train Osama?

Didn't the Bin Ladens get special treatment on 9/11 and the days that followed?

Isn't Osama still at large even though billions have been spent to find him?

I could go on and on...

No, the official conspiracy theory is the lamest yet most deadly lie I have ever witnessed. It's even more fantastic than the Gulf of Tonkin lie, though more may have died (so far) from the latter as a result.

When the Nazis burned the Reichstag, their patsy was a well-known wannabe communist, none too smart, who was reknowned for admitting to stuff he hadn't done if he thought it would impress the party higher-ups.

And bear in mind that Osama is also on record as saying that he had nothing to do with 9/11. So is his word incontrivertible proof when he says "I did it", or when he says "I didn't do it"? How do you decide? Flip a coin?

Even assuming the "fat Osama" tape is real, the testimony of a supposed deranged terrorist mastermind is evidence of absolutely nothing, and it certainly ain't "proof".

Seriously, think about it: you've got a mass murder - the so-called crime of the century. You've got absolutely no concrete evidence (literally, not a shred - if you can find any, please post it; I'd be genuinely interested), and your entire case rests on a confession by an extremely untrustworthy individual who was several thousand miles away at the time, and has also denied the crime both before and after the confession. So, what do you do?

You dust off your hands and say "Case closed - no need for further investigation here."

Umm... really?

77. I don't think it will 'reverse his fortunes' - people are so pissed at him now ...
... that there's no way he's going to rallly the country if something like this goes down. For one thing, he won't have Bill Clinton (or anyone else) to blame, though he'll try. Fact is, he's had six years to protect the country, and if something happens, this time he won't be able to shunt accountability no matter how hard he tries.

Though he may suspend the constitution and lock some of us up in Rex-84 camps.

81. Rather crazy stuff being stated on the forum all the time. This one breaks a record.
Of course, it certainly plays into the psychological warfare model really well--spread despair and hopelessness to neutralize the opposition. And what better place than here, a forum that noone else reads anyway.

90. Why Germans Supported Hitler
<<
It has long intrigued me why the German people supported Adolf
Hitler and his Nazi regime. After all, every schoolchild in
America is taught that Hitler and his Nazi cohorts were the
very epitome of evil. How could ordinary German citizens
support people who were so obviously monstrous in
nature?>>

114. Welcome to DU

Interesting history on White Rose, but I gotta say that posting Libertarian articles that call FDR a facist is not the best way to make a first impression. I suggest lurking around for awhile longer.

91. Interesting Stat for you that may give you hope
Population of America - 301,000,000

Approx Current Size of US Military - 480,000 (130,000 in Iraq)

Police Officers in the United States - 660,000

Approx Amount of Private Citizen Gun Holders in the (rough estimates) - 50% of homeowners

Current Opposition to Bush Junta - Circa 80%

Therefore, in conclusion, in the event that Bush declared Martial Law, he would have to rely on approximately 800,000 law enforcers suppressing 300,000,000 people of which 150,000,000 are armed. Of the 150,000,000 who are armed.

Whilst he may try (and until he repeals the 2nd amendment I can`t see him even trying), ultimately he will fail...Furthermore, the strongholds of America , CA, NYC and DC are Blue, which means you can count on the fact that the law enforcers are probably also Blue.

The fact that boards like DU, who tend to shy away from conspiracy theories, are seriously discussing a possible false flag operation, proves that the level of distrust towards this administration is at such a high, that anything that happens on US soil will within hours be blamed on the Bush junta. Unlike 911 however, people are watching for this....

I would be more concerned of an economic collapse than a false flag operation, you all forget (being European I studied this), that what secured Hitler`s power was taking a population out of severe economic hardship into prosperity.

This is the USA`s main threat.

Peace

I don't think the big money behind the scenes would put Bush in charge of a toaster.

117. Its about understanding how easily dangerous people gain power

"Interesting history on White Rose, but I gotta say that posting Libertarian articles that call FDR a facist is not the best way to make a first impression. I suggest lurking around for awhile longer."

Thanks for the welcome (brr).
Is this an antilibertarian website?
I thought it was an excellent article.
I like having my perspectives widened, thought others might as well.
No offense intended; but I am a student, always trying to understand more.
Don't like politics or politicians, am in favor of freedom.
I've learned alot from Libertarians, may not agree with everything
but I don't agree with alot of Democrats either, and some of my
best friends are Republicans. Is Democratic Underground a religion?
That would give me the shivers.
Dangerous people get into power because individuals don't challenge their own beliefs, think for themselves, or pay attention when they are being affected by groupthink. Everybody is vulnerable to this.

120. Weather mod documentary will be on
Discovery channel on august 5th at 8 pm EST and a dramatization of weather control after that at 9 pm.
http://www.oddkitsap.com/?p=29

The Us has been making weather into a weapon.
This is NOT tin foil.
In the ads for this show on August 5th a person being interviewed said Katrina was MOVED to avoid damage, in the visual it looked like katrina I was originally as aimed for texas then was steered ummm.. veered off to NoLA To control damage for WHOM?

By U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell (from 1975)

The U.S. and other world powers should sign a treaty to outlaw the tampering with weather as an instrument of war.
