(UGH!) Quote of the Day

Quote of the Day

"Bush and the Republicans aren't dominant. They're a minority, but an unusually effective one. One measure of this: At the end of 2007, there will be more American troops in Iraq than when Democrats took over Congress in January." -- Fred Barnes in the new issue of the Weekly Standard.

Given that Barnes generally can't speak while Karl Rove is drinking water, one should probably assume this reflects the White House's thinking on troop deployments in Iraq.

2. Of course it does, and they have gone into a stalling pattern....
so they can dump this mess on the next president--or failing that, retain power and just keep going on and on and on...

3. Revisionist History: the "surge" was Democrats' decision.
I can see it all now. Whatever bad ending this comes to, the rightwing will have a script making it all the fault of Democrats.

4. Yep, they've been damn effective. What does that say about the dems?
It is time to kick ass and take names.

I pray that Conyers gets those last three supporters.

5. "unusually effective" or UNUSUALLY DECEPTIVE!!
Cripes I can't stand Fred Barnes, what a talking point repeater. People like him might just have some doubts where they are going when they meet their maker.
