She is a lawyer by training and trade.

Is there any question where her loyalties lie? To the constitution?

Just stunning.

5. This was her sworn testimony before Congress... LINK

Bruce Fein: Let me underscore one of the things that you remember, Bill, 'cause I was there at the time of Watergate. And this relates to one political - official in the White House, Sara Taylor's testimony. And claiming that George Bush could tell her to be silent.

Bill Moyers: That was a great moment when Sara Taylor said, "I took an oath to uphold the president." Did you see that?

Bruce Fein: Yes. And that was like the military in Germany saying, "My oath is to the Fuhrer, not to the country." She took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. I did, too, when I was in the government. There's no oath that says, "I'm loyal to a president even if he defiles the Constitution."

John Nichols: Ever.

7. Loyalty to Party not Country - conservative values
Just a good toady with obviously something to hide. The bush administration is a massive underlying crime which should destroy any claim by the military deserter of executive privilege.

8. I thought Leahy had her qualify that during the testimony
And she clarified Oath to the Constitution. Personally, I think the WH crew did do a pledge to both.

10. Ah, so she backtracked and then said she swore to uphold the Const.
I'm just gonna have to dig up the testimony to see for myself...

12. She did backtrack on her original statement after Sen. Leahy
pointed out her mistake to her.

Quite frankly, her original statement I believe was the truth. I have no doubt these mindless freaks in this administration place loyalty to Bushco above all else.

13. The fact that she said it before backtracking under Leahy's questioning says it all...
I think she was truthful the first time, and merely trying to extricate herself from an indefensible position when she backtracked.
