Woman promotes low-cost animal population control
Fort Gratiot resident inspired after loss of pet

When Bronwyn Watson-Williams' cat, Lily, ran away earlier this month, she was flooded with supportive stories about animals finding their way home after long absences.

She is asking people to send her stories about a pet's return home, a heroic animal or even heartwarming stories about people's favorite pets.

She hopes to publish the stories, then use the proceeds to give discounts to have dogs and cats spayed and neutered.

The program will be called Stargazer Lily Animal Neuter Spay Foundation. The name came from the three nights Watson-Williams spent nightly vigils looking for her cat near the Animal Hospital of Lakeport where she escaped.

"I kept a 24-hour vigil looking for her, so when I would look up it was like I was wishing on a star," she said.
