Who the fuck ever said THAT would be a good idea?

Nobody, would be my guess.

"Statement C: America should now reduce its oil consumption to spare more for other nations who are trying to grow their economies and provide jobs for their citizens."

Who the hell commissioned THAT poll question for Zogby?

Thinking about America's use of oil, which of the following statements best reflects your thinking on the subject - A, B, or C?

Statement A: America should use as much oil as it needs to keep it growing.

Statement B: America should balance its oil consumption with that of other important economies to make sure that everyone has enough to meet their needs without shortages or price spikes.

Statement C: America should now reduce its oil consumption to spare more for other nations who are trying to grow their economies and provide jobs for their citizens.

No, you fucking idiots.

You should conserve oil to protect America's economy, you selfish fucking freeptards.

Also:

Which of the following statements comes closer to your opinion of the Kyoto Global Warming Treaty - Statement A or Statement B?

Statement A: The US should ratify the Kyoto Global Warming Treaty it has already signed to reduce the emission of industrial pollutants in the atmosphere. While the treaty reduces U.S. and European emissions at a faster rate than those for countries like China and India, it is only fair that these nations have the opportunity to catch up in industrial development.

Statement B: The U.S. should not sign the treaty because it unfairly punishes the U.S. and Europe, and makes them reduce emissions at a faster rate than developing nations and puts the U.S. economy at a severe disadvantage. It is also questionable how serious the problem of global warming really is.

2. It's a biased poll question, but people with an internationalist outlook could choose that option
ie those who think about the global population, rather than putting the USA first. But by making that the only justification for cutting oil consumption, the poll is indeed trying to influence the answers - many would either say reduce it to help the US economy, as you do, or reduce it to help the world environment. Since many will reject the reason given, it ends up with a much smaller percentage saying "reduce oil consumption" - which may be what someone then uses in a headline.

Have you just been asked this, or was it from last year, when this blogger made roughly the same point as you?

5. That was in the latest Zogby poll.
Obviously, they want people to say, "Fuck the rest of the world, 'Murika first!"

4. Statement A: America should use as much oil as it needs to keep it growing.
And it really doesn't matter where it comes from- or even WHO uses it to produce the goods (or food) that Americans desire.

Oh, and btw: the viewers of CNN, FOX and the broadcast networks demand that the rest of the world pays attention and helps us out when we have shortages.
