Why isn't Reid going along with Russ Feingold's Censure? |
|
Sorry if dupe - I've been away from DU lately. Can someone clue me in? Thanks.

2. Seems I heard that Cheney had more important things to do at one time, too. |

I keep thinking that - that they know what they are doing - and being systematic about it - but I'm really beginning to wonder. Why not at least - AT THE VERY LEAST - vote for censure?

they have to wait out his term so they can ship the lot of them to the Hague (which couldn't be done without military intervention, so long as he's Commander-In-Chief).

9. Because Bush is already known as the worst president ever, and that's good enough for Harry I guess |
|
On Face the Nation, Reid actually said:
"The president already has the mark of the American people that he's the worst president we've ever had, and I don't think we need a censure resolution in the Senate to prove that."
Excuse the f**k out of me Harry, but if you won't act against a guy you say is "the worst president we've ever had", are you going to ever do anything to hold anyone accountable for anything, ever? If you're not going to do anything to "the worst president" ever, then get the hell out of the way and let someone else do the job that we're paying you to do.

11. Because Harry Reid is a spineless DLC DINO? |
|
Or, because we don't have the votes and it would simply come across in the media as the Congress reiterating their support for the Chimperor and his war and policies.
I can't decide which is more likely the cause. They are both true.

12. Because censure is even MORE of a non-starter than impeachment... |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-23-07 04:27 PM by truebrit71
..if we don't have time for impeachment, how the fuck can they have time for censure ( a toothless legally - useless waste of fucking time...)
Feingold doesn't want to impeach, but he DOES want to censure....WTF....
Someone needs to chekc what he's been smoking, because that makes ZERO sense...
