Some love for the pro-impeachment crowd...
of which I proudly am a member. I'm disappointed to hear, as I know you are, that Rep. Conyers, whom I greatly admire and respect, is still keeping impeachment off the table. The word from a couple of days ago was very encouraging. "What are we waiting for?" he was quoted as saying in regards to the impeachment question. After today's events, it's a question that I want him to answer with more explanation than, "We don't have the votes." Well, with all due respect, Mr. Conyers, I am convinced that if you will START the investigation by calling witnesses, taking depositions, issuing subpoenas, etc. as you begin consideration of H.R. 333, you will GET the votes.

That aside, let me send some love to my friends in the pro-impeachment crowd. The words are not mine, but they serve as my encouragement to keep fighting for impeachment.

First, they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win! --Gandhi

When the first cries went up for impeachment, we were ignored. "See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil." That was the mantra. "We've got more important things to worry about," is what we heard.

But, we kept on pushing. And, they laughed at us. "You look foolish. No one is listening to what you say because of the way you are saying it. We agree with you that these people are criminals, but you're acting crazy. Go away, and stop being so politically stupid. Fools!" You heard the laughter.

But, we didn't let that stop us. We kept on pushing. Today, some in our own party have started pushing back. They told us, "We don't have the votes. Go away, or be arrested." Those in the capital speaking on our behalf didn't go away. Some were arrested.

Today, they fight us.

Tomorrow, we win!

1. The thing about votes for impeachment is,
we may not have them NOW.

But after investigations, the bad news about their dirty deeds WILL become known to the public. There will be support. The media CANNOT ignore impeachment proceedings.

By the time we need them, the votes will be there. On the GOP side, too. They will have to or suffer political suicide.

THE VOTES WILL BE THERE TO CONVICT WHEN WE NEED THEM.

2. You are correct. There is a cancer on the presidency,
and I'm afraid it is spreading through the whole body politic. If we don't remove it, we will die.

5. I wish I could be in Washington D.C. right now....
I hope the crowd there today goes back tomorrow, and it grows larger, and the next day, and it's even larger. Eventually, I'll get some vacation and join them. Keep going back. Every day. Nonviolent resistance.

3. this is sort of off,
but not!

I was out in the Palm Desert Ca area this past weekend and was listening to talk radio while floating in the pool! It was a FauxRadio station, but the show was certainly not Faux---which made me happy to listen-----anywayS--the host was interviewing a Craig Leslie, who wrote a book entitled " 2007 Impeachment,Bush and Cheney" ( I think) his points were all constitutional points and excellent points for impeachment. His book must be out of print, for he mentioned he had to be emailed to get one.

So---my question is--has anyone read this book - or even heard of it?

16. Frankly, I feel like Conyers
is just jerking me around. NO FOLLOW UP. Great photo ops...

But NO FOLLOW UP!!!

Yeah, let's "take them out!" But now it's AGAIN "off the table."
It would seem Americans have the gubmint they so richly deserve.
Forgive me my frustration and 44 years of ANGER since the event that precipitated THIS success...

At THIS point it's a DONE DEAL.

17. I think Conyers is going to handle this well...
He'll use it as a catalyst to move the conversation forward. At least I'm hoping that's the case.
