2. I think the two guys are rather funny
The fact that they used their question was appalling.

But, it proves how worthless the media is....They can't even tell when it's a joke.

4. They Sure Seem Real Impressed With Themselves
Amy Kornbluth on C-SPAN just said last night's debate won't be remember for anything any of the candidates said, but that it was the "CNN/YouTube Debate"...as though we are supposed to be so impressed.

It's bad enough the corporate media has tried to turn these debates into a reality show, but all these network's cult of personality and constant blowing their own horn demonstrates a serious problem in the political discourse. I haven't seen Senator Dodd's clock, but I'd bet Anderson wasn't as prominent as the other debate "hosts", but the focuse was more on him (as it was for Wolfie or Tweety) than on the candidates or issues. The candidates were just there as backdrops...actors in the corporate media's show.

I had to turn off CNN the other day as they kept showing the last Tammy Faye images over and over...exploiting this poor lady's final days for ratings...and again patting themselves on the back for doing it.

Their new logo should be "The Most Shameless Name in News"

13. DVRs Are A Modern Marvel
I resisted TIVO, but broke down recently and got a DVR...and since then i've watch precious little of the corporate media. Instead of Lou Doobies, I just rerun Countdown or the Daily Show or pop on Bill Moyers. The air has been a lot cleaner in here...and I haven't had to take as many cold showers.

:hi:

10. Actually, it's not.
Not to those of us who live in red states, but are blue voters and know that the fictional people they portray wouldn't vote anyway.

17. hilarious indeed
and the question selection was very weak.

Going into the debate this was the main criticism and it turned out to be prophetic. Now, whether this was a result of incompetence and low quality at CNN or an inherent flaw in capturing the spirit of the online movement by weeding out questions is unkown, but I would go with the former.

20. Agreed. The "Red State Update" should have been a humor break
...but instead it was difficult to distinguish from the other questions.

I found myself wondering "is this a joke?" a lot. At least, being familiar with RSU, I knew that was supposed to be funny. (supposed!)

16. Okay, maybe I need my head checked
But I looked at a few of the Red State Update vids on YouTube and they were pretty funny.

Especially the one about Mitt Romneys dog and "Gut Feeling". I think these guys are simply making satire of the people who vote outside their better interest- particularly in the deep south.
