Witches win court case in shopping centre name-change row
A coven of witches was claiming victory in its battle to get the name of a £350 million shopping centre changed.

They were outraged when developer Hammerson called the Leicester project - a huge extension of the city's Shires malls - the Highcross Quarter.

It is also the title for sacred times in the wicca calendar and the group of Leicestershire witches had already set up a website with the same name.

.................

Highcross Quarters occur four times during the year, one on each of the solstices and equinoxes. They are seen as sacred festival days by many 'alternative' religions such as wicca

1. What is an "alternative" religion?
One that isn't Christian, Jewish, or Muslim?

Good grief, how patronizing.

3. Add Hindu and Buddhist
Anything else is "alternative"

Yeah it's patronizing, but frankly from a Wiccan point of view that wording is the least of our problems.

4. Read more like Witches win right not to have domain name stolen from them.
I suspect that if the developer had not tried to steal the domain name, this would not have occurred.

5. Good grief, you'd think they'd google the name first
Nowadays I wouldn't name anything without running it through google.
