Bush Insists Al Qaeda in Iraq Threatens U.S. |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 03:00 PM by RedEarth
WASHINGTON, July 24 — President George W. Bush argued forcefully today that an Al Qaeda-affiliated group in Iraq is linked tightly to the central Al Qaeda leadership, and that for American forces to leave Iraq without defeating the terror group would be “dangerous for the world and disastrous for America.” http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/24/washington/24cnd-prexy.html?ex=1342929600&en=ebf10da2fa034f27&ei=5089&partner=rssyahoo&emc=rss

1. He didn't define 'disastrous'? Does it mean attacks on US soil, |
|
or just attacks on US foreign interests? Or does he differentiate at all, even?
More likely it doesn't really matter anyway. Oh, and I don't buy the "linked tightly" part.

In the comedy hit What's Up, Doc? (1972), Ryan O'Neal and Barbra Streisand, after a climactic car chase, end up floating in San Francisco Bay in their Beetle.

14. There is no "central Al Qaeda leadership" |
|
Al Qaeda is a phone book.
It's like saying: that since someone from Chicago committed a murder, then we have to be on guard against being attacked by the Greater Metro Chicago White Pages.

|
The Insurgency with various groups are around 200,000 strong. There goes dumbya with his fuzzy math again.

19. So we are expected to spend 12 billion dollars per week to chase down 1,500 people. Let's throw in |
|
the towel, and come home. Even the Pentagon can't justify that kind of spending, and Bush* has an M.B.A. from Harvard.

12 billion a week to keep our troops close enough to that 1,500 that they can hurt Americans. Money well spent.
