Fred Thompson Shakes Up Campaign Staff
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 03:12 PM by RedEarth

WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican presidential hopeful Fred Thompson is replacing his acting campaign manager with former senator and energy secretary Spencer Abraham and Florida GOP strategist Randy Enright.

Thompson spokeswoman Linda Rozett said acting campaign manager Tom Collamore, former vice president of food and tobacco giant Altria, still will advise the campaign. Collamore has helped organize the campaign for Thompson, who has not officially jumped into the race.

3. Shaking up the staff of a campaign that isn't yet officially a campaign.
Interesting. Hopefully, that's a good sign.

7. Prediction: Thompson is going to sink like a stone.
As soon as the TV public gets a look at fat, bald, dour old Fred without a script, they are going to sour on him quickly. The Rethugs desperately need a candidate with intelligence, charisma and integrity -- and all of those qualities preculde membership in the GOP.

8. This might [prove the rumored laziness
He might be thinkig about A florida start rather than rely on the grip and grin states like Iowa and New Hamphire. Focus on a purel;y soputhern strategy with ad buys to get him into the delgate hunt with out a lot of time on the street.
