I Just Went Outside, Sat On The Tree Swing And Took In The Beautiful River And Sky.
Edited on Tue Jul-24-07 05:04 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
Two things occurred to me:

1. The world is quite beautiful.

2. Politics sucks.

I'm goin back out there now. I'd say that many of y'all should come join me...

1. I did it too
and I agree with you.

It was a good thing too as hubby must have forgot to lock the coop, my four chickens had got loose, and it is getting ready to rain.

4. you are right ~ we all need a swing and a breath of fresh air
everyone's so angry right now.
a swing is a great place to relax, but I can
only stare at the passers-by
from mine.

10. I picked blackberries
Although we know them as "thimbleberries".

I've been shooing away the blue jays all day long.

46. I picked thimbleberries the other day
of course, they are totally different from blackberries and have ripened a few weeks earlier. They're a pain because they're so small.

6. Hey I was just about to join you
I have a cherry pit and plum pit that I want to plant.

It will be a minor undertaking - the dirt I want for the planter is deeply buried in the two foot compost heap.

Hope the pesky jays are acting appreciative - The bird feeder is full, ditto the small water holder. After they get what they want, the nuthatches and woodpeckers will be down.

The deer stay put until evening these days (just too darn hot!) but that Mischief Maker the Jackrabbit is over in the neighbor's yard eating his way through some newly planted flowers.

Who says Life Ain't Grand??

8. There was a storm through here a while ago
and the world smells like it was just freshly created.

There is nothing more wonderful than the sound of thunder echoing back from the mountains.

If I don't want to leave it behind, I have to pay attention to politics.

Right now I'm able to see, over my laptop, our 16 girls (hens) and Bo Jangles...the rooster my hubby calls Magnificent....he is showy but not too much upstairs...if you get my drift. Out back are some Whitetail bucks feeding and soon there will be Axis deer and Black Buck antelope...wildbirds feeding too....rainy....peaceful. Best of two worlds: DU on the laptop and peace just outside the window!

edit--I did get some fresh air while I "set the table" for the critters!

14. Great suggestion. When my kitty or dog is resting, I imagine stepping in their paws.
They have no worries and are so content.

Imagine that!!!

I am really lucky, too, because I can walk less than fifty feet and look at a clean, running river edged by gorageous cliffs.

15. I was just in the crawl space, under the house, fixing our plumbing
when I heard Tucker's show begin on a television above and the following occurred to me:

1. It is nasty and suffocating in that crawl space.

2. Now I know how Tucker's brain must feel.

Just as soon as I take a shower and get the cobwebs out of my hair I'll join you in appreciating the great outdoors. Heck, I'll even take the dogs with me.

17. Not everything is fields of wildflowers
I shot a rattlesnake in my driveway this morning. I don't like to do this but the horses go bananas when one of them shows up. And I don't know whether its global warming or what but there seems to be more of them here every year. My wife is scared shitless of them and is pestering my ass to move back to town.

We skinned and cleaned one and grilled it on the fourth. It didn't taste like chicken.

Sometimes nature is ugly.

19. Its fucking hot outside.
37 degrees celsious (~98 F), and with the humidex, feels like 48 (118 F). We beat our all time record by 3 degrees.

You go outside you can't even breath. Lol..I'd rather stay here and play politics, even thought the sentiment was appreciated.

And when I do, I'm gonna find that little spot in the pic. :)

Staying at the family cabin - no phone, internet, but we did have tv. I could have just stayed there forever - where that sound in the background is not sirens or cars, but the wind through the trees.
