4. I was working at my desk this afternoon listening to the 4 PM news, and the lead story was

The Michael Vick dogfighting story. I was really outraged, because I had listened to the Gonzales hearing earlier in the day. And when I heard my local news leading with the Michael Vick story, I was outraged.

We really need to have some very strict standards as what qualifies as "news." And on a day when the Attorney General once again proved himself to be a purgerer, and even a Republican says maybe there ought to be a Special Counsel...there's no way the Mike Vick story should qualify as the lead.

I'm troubled by this not only as a citizen, but as someone with a degree in journalism.
