Gonzo screwed up big time today.... Now everybody is unhappy with him |
|
He slipped up and revealed there are surveillance activities the government is operating in secret separate and apart from the Terrorist Surveillance Program which Bush acknowledged and spoke about.
So Bush and Co are not happy.
Gonzo obviously deceived and misled Congress, and did the same again today for the 3rd time.
Congress is not happy.
Whatever will happen to poor 'Fredo?' Where is the love?

4. Nothing is Going to Happen |
|
Let's face it, the moron will never let Gonzo go. The whole thing is just a joke. I don't know why the Dems are working so hard. Gonzo knows he's in his job until the end so he doesn't even pretend to be trying. I can't help but wonder what the administration has on him that allows him to put himself out there so foolishly.

5. It's bad when Gonzo's deceiving and lying to Congress barely gets any notice |
|
They really are good at overwhelming us with so much stupidity that we can barely take it all in.
Bush & co are so much worse than any other administration is history that not too many people know how to deal with them. Their incompetence is completely unmatched in our history.

7. What will happen? Not a friggin thing. |
|
The Dems on the committee will sputter and pontificate about the administrations lack of respect for the constitution, but nobody will charge the lying bastard with anything.
In a couple months he'll get called up there agian, lie his ass off again, the Dems will all harumph again and again, nothing will happen.
I'll bet the whole cycle repeats itself 3 or 4 times before the 08 elections (if there are any 08 elections).

|
Gonzo so screwed up today.... However the question still remains, was it intentional to see what would happen? I'm not sure he wasn't instructed to do just that,to see how far he/they could push this committee, and what they would do about it! The ball is now in Chairman's court, so I guess we will see how he moves it, or if....

13. I think Gonzo was just being himself ... screwing up is part of who he is... |
|
I believe that Bush/Cheney/Rove will try to push this to the limit. However, there is no doubt that Gonzo has deceived the SJC and lied under oath.
There is some serious planning by Democrats as to how this matter can be handled through the Senate, and not waiting for the D.C. US Attorney to act on the contempt of Congress citation.
Thanks for the kind words.

10. The parallels with the Godfather are striking.... |
|
In the Godfather, Fredo is not very smart, always getting into trouble, and wholly dependent on others to get him out of trouble. In the end he became a liability that Michael could not afford, even though Michael made a big deal out of him always being his brother.
Here we have 'Fredo' not very smart, getting into trouble, and wholly dependent on Bush and Co to get him out of trouble. He has screwed up big time this time, and you have to wonder when he will no longer be of use to BushCo and will be axed.

14. This different tone may be attributable to what the Committee learned from Ashcroft recently... |
|
This Committee is loaded to the gills with information from all kinds of sources, so when Gonzo comes to the Hill to spin his deceptions and falsehoods they KNOW he is lying.
I think the tenor of the questioning today backs this up.
THis is a Committee looking for evidence to confirm what they already know.

|
camper to say the least.. Nor are most others on that committee. They know this POS is lying his ass off as are all of the others in the Administration... The problem right now is how to take these suckers out, and I am sure that most if not all of these Senators are thinking about this.

22. Not sure where I read this, but it may explain a lot about Gonzo's performances... |
|
Supposedly an 'insider' leaked that Rove and Company arranged for handlers to meet with Gonzo to prepare him for first appearance before the SJC regarding the US Attorney firing scandal. After several hours of unsuccessfully trying to coach him they gave up and just gave him some stock answers to use.
I have not seen anything verifying this account as being true, but it sure seems to correspond with what we have seen of Gonzo at each appearance before the SJC.

23. I loved Whitehouse's passion.... |

and Shumer's cunningness. Durbin was great on the torture issues and it was stunning to see Fredo unable to affirm it would be illegal to torture Americans in other countries. I think Leahy & Specter are ready to pounce. Apparently the Solicitor General will make the determination as to whether a special prosecutor is called in for the contempt charge. I also think they've gathered enough convincing evidence that proves Fredo lied to them repeatedly. And Feingold's censure motion about to be filed. ooo la la...I found today's hearing very satisfying insofar as the amount of information revealed and the level of anger the Dems showed.

|
And George won't read The Pet Goat to him, either.
:eyes:
I'm done thinking there is one single vertebrae left in Washington. Nothing at all will happen to Gonzo or anyone else. And for the rest of whatever we'll get to listen to the Republicans say "George didn't do anything wrong or else he would have been impeached, LIKE CLINTON WAS!"

to America with the current Administration in power! Yep, we would love to Impeach and throw these suckers in jail for crimes against Humanity, but that just ain't going to happen at this point. I would love to see a solution to this scenario that will work...

18. The problem Gonzo presents is that the DOJ is seriously dysfunctional right now... |
|
How long the country can operate without an effective DOJ is unknown.
However, as long as Gonzo is at the wheel there will continue to be a massive exodus of career employees from the DOJ.
We are literally seeing a dismantling of the DOJ right before our eyes.
When career DOJ employees write op-eds saying they are so ashamed of the DOJ, you know things are terribly bad behind the closed doors.
IMHO Gonzo will be leaving soon ... one way or another.

I sure hope that is the case... But, and the big But is who will replace him? I know that most of us would love it if Fitz. was the guy... But I highly doubt that would happen with Bush at the helm... (Wishful thinking for sure)

real puppetmasters to distract attention away from them. I think the reference to the lying Gonzo is pretty cute. Has his nose started growing yet? However, this pundit on the radio this morning says that Gonzo is being sacrificed to protect the secrets the others are hiding in the Oval Office. Time for one of these again I see. :tinfoilhat:

26. This shouldn't be news |
|
Gonzo has always been very careful to say "in regards to this particular program" in all of his testimony. That implies that there are other programs. I picked up on that a long time ago, and I always wondered why there weren't more questions on it.
