You support the troops, now you can support your constituents. A letter to our GOP politicians.
Dear Republican Members of Congress,

We have heard a great deal about how much you support the troops. Yes, you support them so much that you are more than willing to put that yellow ribbon on your SUVs to remind them that you are grateful that they are being shot at so that you can get access to the mid-east oil that allows you to drive a bigger truck than your neighbor.

You know all those troops just love to be in Iraq, they love standing around in the 120 degree desert heat dressed in their heavy combat gear, they love being shot at, they love to watch their friends get killed, they love seeing the fireworks when a roadside bomb goes off, they just love being in Iraq and would never want to go home to see their families.

You know this and that is why you won't let them go home, because you support them so much that you would never want to make them come home from their favorite place on Earth. You would never want to see them go through the terrible burden of going home and playing with their kids, because no soldier would ever want to see their children when they have the chance to see what it feels like to have their limbs blown off.

You have done a great job in expressing that the best way to support the troops is to keep them in a war with no end in sight so that they can watch the bullets fly until the day they die. You don't need to tell them why they are watching their friends be killed, you can simply lie about the reasons for war content in knowing that you are giving them support with your lies.

After all you always are telling us about all the good things that are happening in Iraq, and it wouldn't be very supportive to tell the truth if that would mean taking the troops away from all these good things now would it?

But with all this support you are showing the troops I think the American people who are not in the military must be jealous, because we don't get to see all the good things you tell us are happening in Iraq. I have a solution to that problem though, I know a way that you can give all Americans the same support you are giving the troops.

I am suggesting that you propose the Bringing Iraq to America Act of 2007. My idea behind this bill is simple, all you need to do is tell us that this nation is in possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction and then proceed to send the Air Force in to bomb a few of the neighborhoods in your district. I can guarantee that all your constituents will be supportive because you will have liberated them just as you liberated the Iraqis, and we all know how happy you have told us the Iraqis have been at our actions in their country. Americans are not that much different than Iraqis so I am sure they would be just as happy as the Iraqis are if they just had a few bombs lobbed at them.

If you really believe that you are supporting the troops and that Iraqis feel liberated when they get bombed, then I have absolutely no doubt that you will be willing to show your own constituents how good it feels to be liberated. We can even a design a new blood red ribbon that you can put on your SUV to show the people of your district that you are willing to support them in the same way that you support the troops, by putting them in harms way.

After all we all need a little excitement and what would be more exciting than being bombed. I look forward to your introduction of this pro-American piece of legislation into the House of Representatives.

Sincerely,

A Citizen
