I told the DCCC to go Cheney themselves today. |
|
My posting has dwindled over the last couple of years. And my last post a few months ago stated that I was fed up with the new Democratic controlled House and Senate and that, after a few years of being a registered Democrat, I was going back to being registered as unaffiliated.
I've pretty much been on the road since I posted that (I work in rock and roll and have been away from home for months) and haven't been able to change my registration back, but I've been taking steps.
Fast forward to today...
I've been getting calls on my cell phone showing as "UNAVAILABLE" on my caller ID for a couple of months now. I answered it once and that's how I discovered it was the DCCC. I was building a roof and stage at the time and told them I had to go. But I've just been ignoring them since that one "pick up". But they're calling 3-4 time a day! And the less bite I've seen from the Democratic Congress people...the more agitated I've become seeing that "UNAVAILABLE" in the caller ID.
Finally, I picked it up. I asked the lady on the other end to please stop calling me. She asked me why. I told her I was unhappy with most of the candidates I supported the last election. "Not all...", I said, "but most".
I went on to tell her they haven't done what they were elected to do. She said, "OH YES THEY HAVE!". She raised her voice at me.
"No they haven't.", I said back.
"And what are they supposed to do?!"
"They are supposed to impeach these criminal SOB's. That's what the American people wanted. And not only have they not done that, some of the very first words the new Speaker of the House said upon obtaining her position was 'Impeachment is off the table'. I'll support my congress people with the backbone to push for that like Mr. Conyers and a handful of others. But the rest of them can rot. I'd rather give my money directly to Mr. Conyers than to have you spread around to politicians without resolve.....
now don't ever call me again."
And I haven't received one "UNAVAILABLE" call since.

I told a DCCC member, who called for $, to call back when the Dems began doing their job.
There's no excuse for what is happening in our government. The Democrats are not powerless. They should shut down the government. They could de-fund this war and tell Dictator Decider that until he upholds the Constitution and quits destroying our democracy and our civil rights--that he will not get another penny.
The Dems should be doing everything in their power to fight against this tyranny, instead of whining that they "don't have enough votes".
Balderdash!
Shut it all down! Now!

I was only 16 at the time and not really into politics.
Though I was registered as unaffiliated...Clinton was the first politician I ever voted for.
I have to say...the majority of these assholes that got swept into office have their heads up their asses.

4. Why don't you just support the republicans. |
|
You are angry with the people who could help. Place your anger where it belongs.

7. Or just give my help where it belongs... |

hence donating directly to the candidates who HAVE done what their constituents want.
And though most of my voting age life I've been registered as unaffiliated...I've never once voted for a Republican.
I've just had enough. I phone-banked and canvassed for Kerry...A LOT! And he threw in the towel immediately and responded meek and mildly to his swift-boating. I have had enough of politicians that aren't willing to treat the Neo-cons with the respect they deserve...the figurative fist to the teeth.
So...yes...they "COULD" help. But they aren't....so fuck 'em.

10. money speaks, and i call b.s. on this. |
|
you say "people who could help", i see it as people who have the power to end this war and are scared to do it because they scared about what politically would happen to them 5 - 10 years from now. Don't call my ass for money when you are not doing the job that you said you were going to do the last time you called me for money. But whatever, you're right. From here on out I'll never tell my party to "go shove it" in fear of being labeled as some angry person who hates America and wants the terrorists to win. wait, how did we get into this war, ohhh yeah....
Also, I am sick of getting calls from them where they block caller id.

8. they called me today and I told them I was really unhappy |
|
I was unhappy with the two Supreme Court justices that have shown just how bigoted they really are... I am unhappy about the war.
I am unhappy with this corrupt administration and I am not going to give my money to people who keep giving me excuses..
When the fellow started to yammer at me about "not enough votes"...I said...well you better work on that fellow instead of calling me asking me for more of my cash...
I am a Democratic Committee woman and I have to say that I get questioned all the time about why no impeachment...as if I have some internal link to the party hierarchy...I am tired right now ..and I am disappointed.

9. I still give money to the DNC... |
|
as I support Dean. I believe he does the right things with my money. I just cannot turn my back on him. I supported him before the "scream" ;)....and I'll never stop supporting him. Mainly because I believe I could put boxing gloves on him in a ring with Cheney, Gonzo and Little Boots...and he'd punch them in the eye.
I just won't give money to people that want to give any of it to milquetoast politicians.

14. I told them I was "keeping my powder dry" for a real Dem who was willing |
|
to FIGHT for the Constitution, and that I would be donating DIRECTLY TO THOSE CANDIDATES, because I didn't want one penny of my money going to someone who isn't willing to do the right thing, for the only reason that it is the RIGHT THING TO DO.
The person calling was speechless. I told them to take that message back to the people at the top, and to suggest that they disburse the sentiment to those who aren't doing enough.
I told them, in case they hadn't noticed, that at 14% approval, they could hardly afford to not act on what the people are saying.
Again...speechless on the other end of the line. I think they've been hearing this a lot lately, and it is beginning to scare them, as well it should.
