Has anyone else noticed that this is becoming a more and more popular freeper meme as time goes on and they have fewer and fewer legs to stand on? They used to at least try to argue for what they believed in, to catapult the propaganda, to keep repeating the lies enough to make people believe they were true. Now, though, it seems that many of them have given up on even that.

It seems to be tops in the playbook right now. It's not even "Why do you hate America?" anymore. It's "Why do you hate Bush? You're just saying that because you are blinded by your irrational hatred of Bush!"

I guess when all else fails...when you can justify your political stance no other way...you can always slap your opponents with the label "hater." Accuse them of being consumed by "hatefulness" and personal "hatred" for a particular individual. And you can call your opponents hateful human beings. (If you really want to add a nice finishing touch, you can add that you pity them for being so consumed by their hatred.)

That way, you need no longer struggle to explain your irrational support of people and policies who no longer deserve your support, or why you believe things most people know not to be true. All you have to do is accuse those who oppose you of irrational, hurtful hate. With any luck, they'll be so consternated and upset that you called them "hateful" and spend so much time denying your accusation that they'll completely forget that you presented no cogent counterargument to what they said.

I guess that's the plan anyway.

As a counterpoint, Scooter was found guilty of multiple felony counts of perjury and obstruction of justice and sentenced for it, but the current resident of the White House decided that any jail time was too hard a punishment.
