Joe Wilson (Clinton supporter) on Malloy Show praises Reid, Pelosi and calls for impeachment.
He also referred, too politely in my view, to the Monsters who now control the executive branch of the US "sons of bitches." But he is a diplomat by training, so such a mild phrasing of his views is understandable.

The point to be noted is that as a "centrist" DLC type Democrat, Wilson has no problem expressing support for the "impeachment is off the table" leadership of the Democratic party and at the same time issuing a strong call for impeachment.

Some seem to think those demanding "Impeachment Now!" are enemies to the Party, and others seem to think that the Democratic Party leadership who refuse to push for impeachment are the enemies of democracy are the true villains. Both naive views serve only to aid those who would "divide and conquer."

As citizens, demanding impeachment for the bloody crimes of those who now claim to be our lords and masters is simply a demand for truth, justice, and the (idealized) American Way.

But as politicians, Reid, Pelosi, Conyers, and all the rest are thinking strategy and have other priorities. They will begin pushing impeachment only when the gains (increasing the power of the Party in controlling the machinery of the State) outweigh the costs. When the pressure to impeach is greater than the perceived downside, they will act. But only then.

In the meantime, being strategists and opportunists (i.e., successful politicians), they are at the same time doing the work that needs to be done to defeat their (our) fascist opponents, including, as a contingency, laying the groundwork for a successful impeachment process through investigations and the gathering of evidence and testimony and making the general populace aware of the crimes that have been committed.

It's just one more example of where the slogan "Same Struggle, Same Fight" needs to be understood more fully. It does not mean we all act like cult members trying to chant the same catechism in unison. It means we all have different roles, we all fight on the terrains we occupy, and the battleground includes all fronts, and we all are in this together.

13. that would be "end of message"
and n/t or some variant means "no text" beyond the header.

There's a glossary of all this arcane terminology and obscure abbreviations at http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_oet&address=358x190

11. "K" is just a "kick," a reply that pushes the thread up the list of recently
commented on threads. DU puts the most recently commented on threads on page 1 of the various forums. "R" means "Recommend" which just means that that you want to advise others to read this (enough "R's" puts it on the "greatest" listing on DU).

3. I completely missed any "no" in his comments.
If I have time tomorrow I'll download the recording and listen again if you are sure he said "no" to impeachment at some point. It seemed pretty straightforward, that he was 100% for, but maybe I missed some sort of caveat that you picked up on. ??? Are you sure he said "no" at some point?

7. Sorry, that thread seems to be 99% "hi, welcome, and hello."
I listened live, as always (almost). Maybe you can point me to a specific post? It is quite possible he hedged a bit at some point, but I did not hear it. At any rate, my point is that Pelosi and you and I do whatever we do in different terrains and work under different rules of engagement. That does mean we are on different sides, only that we work in different ways. Pushing the Dems to do the right thing is our responsibility as citizens. Caving in to popular demand is just pragmaticism for the politicians.

17. You were right.
I listened again and he said something more like they should continue the investigations that will provide the evidence needed for impeachment. He advocated the slow process, rather than just "impeach now, dammit."

14. And that is just what we must do, rely on common sense and some desire for justice.
The politicians, for the most part, there are exceptions, operate under different constraints and rules. Maintaining favor with corporate backers is the worst of them, but there are others that are less venal. They operate in a different world, and even if their intentions are decent, they need to be pushed hard before serving the common good becomes something high on their list of priorities.
