Whither Hatemail?

I always get some laughs out of the Hate Mailbag, and I notice the last one contained emails from the fall of 2005.

I know there are always lots of things cookin' around here, but if someone ever gets a chance, could we see the mail please? :shrug:

But judging from my own personal email, maybe most of the hatemail has dried up. Remember all those messages that were broadcast by people who admitted to being Republicans and were proud they voted for Junior? You know, the ones where Hillary was so dumb she jumped out of a plane with some kid's backpack instead of a parachute? And the list of people the Clintons had murdered?

Don't see those much any more, do you?

Let me tell you my sad tale.

I came to Democratic Underground 3-4 years ago. Someone sent me a link to "the Top 10 Conservative Idiots" and I was hooked. Oh, the first few times were free, but then there was a donation banner. I donated a couple times, when I could.

Then, I moved on to the harder stuff. The Hate Mailbag. I figured, what's the harm? I'd just read a few wingnut posts on a weekend, have a laugh and get on with it. Then, one weekend, I went to the Hate Mailbag, and there was nothing new. I actually re-read it. Twice. Three times... I needed more.

No problem. I'll just read a few posts at Free Republic. Hey! I can do that every day!

Then it became every hour. I began to know Freepers by name. I knew their habits, their personal philosophies. Oh! There's pissant, he's a White Nationalist! I see P-Marlowe is bashing Catholics with his Calvinist evangelical crap again! Oh, hey, here's a newbie calling for the death of all Muslims and liberals!

I had signed up to post on DU, but I never got around to it. Finally, I realized that I needed help. I came here, hoping to go cold turkey. I've been posting here for about a week now, but I still can't stop going back.

I am the red pen and I am powerless over the entertainment value of wingnuts. Please help me stay away from Free Republic. Post more Hate Mailbag. My sanity hangs in the balance.
