Pat Leahy on Ed Schultz .... going for perjury
Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 12:00 PM by Botany
Said he will send info on Gonzo onto U.S. Attorney about perjury.
(if Gonzo's story does not match up to what Leahy is told by others)

House to bring contempt charges against Bolten & Miers too.

Feingold going for contempt against Bush & Cheney.

Gotta wonder what crimes the White House is trying to hide behind
their stonewalling?

Can the im-peachment blossoms be far behind?

4. Confused
You say the senator will send info on Gonzales onto the US Attorney. Which US Attorney? And haven't they been instructed to obstruct justice in this matter? After all, Gonzales is Attorney General, and any US Attorney's boss. Thanks for clarification.

6. Leahy said that any instructions by the President to the Dept. of Justice ..
Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 11:58 AM by Botany
... to not prosocute a crime is illegal. Reading between the lines Leahy is
calling out the President by saying "You can not give instructions that are illegal."

5. "going for perjury"
Anyone who saw the hearings yesterday should have no doubt
that perjury was committed by the highest law enforcement officer
of the United States, Attorney General Alberto Gonzo. There should be
no delay on "going for perjury", before 'going' on vacation.

8. Isn't it strange ... Rush calls him "Senator Leaky" ... as if leaking info about
security is a bad thing ... I guess that when it's a secret CIA agent and the politician who would get in really big trouble is a Republican, then it's okay ...

10. "Leaky Leahy" is from the Reagan days. Repukes accused Leahy of disclosing a top secret
communications intercept during a 1985 television interview. The information released by Leahy was not classified and it was determined there was no ethical or criminal violation.

Conservative talk radio show host Rush Limbaugh designated him "Leaky Leahy" :eyes:

9. slightly off topic...
Did anyone else think it was cool that Pat Leahy is a Batman fan.

He said that he grew up reading the comics and has also had small parts in the movies. He donates the money that he gets for that to charities. His favorite Batman's are the Frank Millers

Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 12:40 PM by Botany
He will not take being lied very well.

He also said Specter, Whitehouse, and one other senator all used
to be prosocuters and they were mad too.

15. they have much to hide
My guess is that Karl Rove was using U.S. Attorneys as "button men"
to punish "the other side" and to manipulate elections.

16. What in the hell difference did it make
They aren't going to vote in the full house til AFTER the August recess. This congress has no spine, no balls and every single one should be voted out of office. We should start the hell over.

17. What are you talking about?
The congress has every right to demand the information the White House
and this (the contempt citation) is very good leverage on the admin.

This is correct and proper 1st step.. If you want it before the August recess call
your Rep..

The White House is stonewalling and considering what has already come out the
information that the Administration is blocking must be lethal to them.

Be it perjury by Gonzales or failure to appear by White House staff crimes
are being committed.
