WH responds to contempt citations: "From our view, this is pathetic"

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2007/07/house_panel_contempt_white_hou.html#more

The White House came out swinging today at the House Judiciary Committee’s vote for contempt of Congress citations against White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and the president’s former legal counsel, Harriet Miers, in the congressional investigation of the firings of federal prosecutors.

“From our view, this is pathetic,’’ said White House spokesman Tony Snow, suggesting that the Justice Department will make its own findings about any referral for prosecution of contempt and that this likely is “not likely to go anywhere... What you have right now is partisanship on Capitol Hill.’’

1. The only partisanship I see is coming from the WH
and their cronies in Congress.

This is about the rule of law.

13. Specter actually suggested there might be contempt charges
coming from the Senate too I thought. He mentioned some way they could bypass Bush's courts.

23. He does a pretty good job
of communicating the contempt that the White House feels for the people and the country and for whatever scraps of paper might be in the national archives.

It ain't Tony. He's just carrying the message from on high. The only thing wrong with Tony is that he doesn't have the integrity to STFU and quit.

17. It is pathetic if they don't issue the citations before the vacation
At least that is the way I see it, I hoping the news I heard that they would wait
to vote on it after the vacation is wrong. Otherwise it seems like the citation
is not important enough and then further delays the court proceedings that are gonna
follow it.

24. Let me get this straight
This administration uses the law to break the law. They think that everyone on their staff can use executive priviledge, they refuse to answer subpoena's,they thumb their noses at the constitution, they invented a false war, they've illegally spied on us, Bush vetos every bill that comes from a democratic congress as dumb tony claims that congress sholud be getting bills passed and thinks it is rediculous for congress to have oversite of their treasonous wrong doings. These things are an amazing breed of humans.

25. The WH came out "swinging"?
"From our pathetic view, we've got nothing to refute the charges of contempt," said the highly partisan spin meister for the embattled White House. "Still, since we've obviously thought the coup through, there's not much that the rule of law can do to stop us."

:puke:

He went on to add that if dissent is made impossible, revolution is inevitable.
