there are two factions here
I once was for investigate investigate, investigate
And I am still for investigations, but only with impeachment and trial at its end
I don't know why people don't get this, but the RADICALS in charge want nothing less than the death of the Constitution
This is the greatest threat to the republic in its history
And sadly, the Democrats in DC don't get it either. While they are playing procedure, these thugs are two, three four steps ahead of them
Good, they are filing contempt, and giving them time to regroup.
Folks... I have simply lost my faith in the Congress and my faith in the American People
But before this is over, there will blood in the streets, one way or the other... that I can guarantee
But the Republic is dead... dead and buried, and what remains is a husk... and partly, because people truly do not understand what is at stake
They say that it is darkest before the dawn, well a dawn it will be but the Republic is dead
Why? To defend and protect the Constitution of the US against enemies, both foreign and domestic are but empty words now

1. We must keep our powder dry in case Bush/Cheney do something really serious |
|
Just kidding
I wonder why our Democratic leaders are fighting so hard to keep Bush in office? If impeachment is to happen, it's going to have to start at the bottom and work it's way to the top.

3. Impeachment is a process. |
|
Investigations can/should be a part of it. In fact, they come first.
My question is this: We have lots of investigations underway, which is good. But what is going to come of them? We have Pelosi and Conyers both on record as stating that "impeachment is off the table." OK, fine. So what are they going to do if/when the investigations uncover high crimes and misdemeanors?
The impeachment process should be a circle. With only investigations, but no impeachment and conviction, there is no circle. So what's the use of investigating unless it's all to be used solely for political gain by the Dems?
And if that's the case, are they really that different from the Republicans?

9. Yes, investigations without consequences are a Iran/contra redo. |

We may catch some minnows but the perpetrators get away. Nothing in the big picture changes. An investigation for impeachable offenses is called an impeachment inquiry. There is none in the works that I'm aware of. The ground work for many of those have been completed while we were in the minority.

I say that half serious and half cynical. If Democrats are so spineless or whatever that they won't go after this regime, then what do we do and who do we turn to? Take to the streets? Where? When? Yes...it's frustration wrapped in anger surrounding by disgust.
It's hard to try to rationalize a system we see being jobbed at every step. It's almost impossible to hold one's powder when you see the hubris and arrogance this regime operates under. But what recourse is there? If we can't do it within' "the system" or trust those who work within it, then what's the most efficient and effective manner to get our voices heard?

13. take to the streets, replace them at elections |
|
and mostly raise a holy thunder
There are Democrats in the base who will act on the oath
And I am not the first to note this, but this country is more than ready for a third party....
I will not be too shocked if not one, but two parties go to hell and a handbasket
