Poll question: What do you think the result would be if a vote was called tomorrow on the following resolution?
"RESOLVED, That the Committee on the Judiciary acting as a whole or by any subcommittee thereof appointed by the Chairman for the purposes hereof and in accordance with the Rules of the Committee, is authorized and directed to investigate fully and completely whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its constitutional power to impeach George W. BUsh, President of the United States of America. The committee shall report to the House of Representatives such resolutions, articles of impeachment, or other recommendations as it deems proper."

(This is the exact wording used in the resolutions authorizing the commencement of the impeachment process against Nixon and Clinton).

5. as time goes on, support will build
Conyers did Contempt of Congress today and went the Justice Department route in order to build the case. When the Justice Department does nothing on the Contempt of Congress motion, that will only piss off more House members and build the case for Impeachment.

6. I agree. Its the only way
Impeach now is a nice slogan, and attacking Pelosi and COnyers may be a way for some to vent their frustration, but the process isn't going to move forward unless and until public support for impeachment reaches the stage where even some repub members are prepared to jump ship.
