And you probably aren't.

31. Actually,
Tricare is pretty good. $3 generic and $9 namebrand scrips. Not shabby.

33. I wasn't talking about prescription co-pay prices.
You ought to watch "Sicko" if you don't understand that people with health insurance are still being screwed by a sh*tty system.

1. Why can't you respond within the thread?
...it kind of implies that you are an attention seeker and somewhat selfish as well...

13. Like I said - it's my opinion
Edited on Wed Jul-25-07 08:23 PM by HughMoran
I find it somewhat odd that when a controvercial and obviously intended to provoke thread is started, somoene inevitably takes the bait and starts a "well, I see it the other way" thread that comes across as simplistic and adds to the flamefest. What prevented the person from responding to the person within the thread? In fact, posts like this are against the rules if they are designed to provoke a person who they disagree with in another flamefest post. But I can at least try to be polite about it ... :D

14. "I'm sorry" is a very important phrase.
When you use it with such obvious sarcasm, you hurt all efforts at peacemaking among friends.

Please, when you absolutely must bash someone, and are obviously happy doing so, don't cheapen that phrase "I'm sorry", because you obviously AREN'T.

And, you were the one who provoked. Own up to it.

16. "Sorry to have to tell you this"
...and I meant it with no disrespect to the O/P.

Your opinion is noted, but your interpretation of my sentiment is just wrong.

29. Nothing much to say I guess
I have little tolerance for folks who fly off the handle when I was addressing another person - based on some stupid ass pet peeve of theirs.

Therefore, I am putting you on ignore - I don't have time for people like you.

I agree with you. No lobbying bucks are bigger, so why shouldn't there be plants in here trying to discredit it? The ins. companiees would have to be CRAZY not to have plants in here trying to make SICKO look bad. The good thing is SICKO cannot be made to look bad because it's fact, pure and simple.

19. The problem is, DU rules prohibit us even saying it to someone, even when it's clear that's what's
happening.

And, yes, you can be sure there are paid trolls here!

I even posted the other day, "Don't feed the trolls"

We waste so much time and energy on trolls, but can't bother to make phone calls about health care, or about the Housing Trust Fund, which would cut down so much on homelessness.

Speaking of which, have you called/written in support of HR2895? :)

12. I'd be happy to! Thanks for asking.... www.pnhp.org is the major one...
That is the doctor's site, and has a lot of good info.

There is a very good and very short video I would recommend which describes the basic premise:

www.grahamazon.com/sp/whatissinglepayer.php

I hope you will share that with many others!

Then, come back with more questions. I think there is a forum here for health care, also. Feel free to ask questions there!

10. Hey, my DOCTOR is for universal health care
She watched Sicko and has recommended it to all her patients!

But then she's the kind of doc who runs a not-for-profit GP clinic three days a week and doesn't take a salary--has to work for an opthamologist two days a week to pay the bills.

15. Couldn't agree more
Universal health care all the way. If it effects some poorly, it can easily be fixed. You don't scrap the road because of a pothole ;) but this is a road we *need* and a lot of people don't see that. The dusty trail just ain't cuttin' it anymore.

26. But that is exactly how the repug party elite get their followers to vote against their best
interests always. They are able to convince the rank and file one pay check away from the poor house repubs that they can achieve the "American Dream". And all the while the party leaders do everything in their power to insure just the opposite. And the rank and file repubs never get the disconnect between what their party leaders say to get elected and what they actually do, once elected.
