Gonzo: the "Program" vs. "Intelligence Activities" |
|
I have been offline most of today, so wasn't able to catch any discussions, but I did watch some of Gonzo's testimony, and he was very careful about consistently distinguishing "program" and "intelligence activities".
Were there any threads/comments that have been made about this?
Clearly he was trying to be nuanced, but to what end?

that isn't part of the so-called Terrorist Surveillance Program. He tried to use that distinction as a shield to not have to talk about what he tried to get Ashcroft to approve when Ashcroft was drugged up post-surgery.
It's a tangled mess. And doesn't necessarily help him or the President one little bit, because the only reason Gonzales could talk about it before was because Bush had personally declassified its existence and spoken of it in public... so who authorized him to expose this now? More questions, no answers.
