So, I Wonder What Those Rich Iraqi Bank Robbers Are Up To Now?

Take a look at the links below. They are all concerning the massive $252 million to $300 million dollars or dinars (depending on who you read) bank robbery where that much money was stolen from....... us. And it was carried out by some of the "good guys" who were working for the bank where the money was kept. But they also had part-time jobs after their main jobs of robbing us too. Apparently this question was not ask on their job applications.

The thing that jumps out about these links is, why is it with such a large amount of money being stolen by terrarist bank robbers, not one single MSM has a story on this theft on their news websites? Not a single one. I went to ABC, NBC, CBS and reluctantly to Faux and searched for something on this important story and came up empty. The closest thing that I found to an Iraqi bank robbery story on the MSM was http://search2.foxnews.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&client=my_frontend&proxystylesheet=my_frontend&output=xml_no_dtd&site=story&getfields=*&filter=0&sort=date%3AD%3AS%3Ad1&q=baghdad+bank+robbery&qstr=&realm=fnc&random=">a report on Faux News' website about a piddling little $1 million bank robbery back in December 2006. Amateurs.

So if you happen to have Fundies or Rightwingnutjobs for friends or in your family (I know you don't like to talk about it, but it happens in the best of families) you might want to ask them about this. Ask them why they think their favorite anchor person, Katie, that ABC guy, and the other blow-dried person on NBC (I'm terrible with names, particularly the one's of people I loathe), and the standard-bearer of democracy through coercive war, Faux -- ask them why they have overlooked this report?

I mean you would think that with that much of OUR tax money being stolen, they'd be a little upset, right? And I would think that even an off-the-rack Fundie or RW nutjob would be livid at the loss of all the bullets and bombs and stuff we could have bought with that money to blow up our allies the Iraqis as we force democracy on them. Only now its the "insurgents" who will be buying the bullets and bombs. And they'll probably get them from US Army surplus. Or maybe they'll just steal the next shipment of weapons we send over there like they did with the money we sent them to build hospitals and schools and pay government employees, and cut out the middle man.

So here's where things stand as I see it: we invade a country to find WMD's that we couldn't find because there were never any WMD's there, but we stayed anyway to remove a tyrant from power. Because tyrant removals R what we do. Except in our own country -- that's "off the table." And once we found this tyrant and removed him, we decided to stay a little longer to bring democracy to the region since we were in the neighborhood -- and well, because everyone loves democracy. Except us -- that's also "off the table." And now that we're doing all this great stuff for these ungrateful people, we find that they are shooting at us and planting bombs using our stuff, bought with our money that they stole.

Boy, bringing democracy to a country by invasion and coercion isn't what it used to be.....
